Sadly I doubt it, I suspect an increase more than likely. It's been a land grab, and once that settles down next year the fibre providers will squeeze the consumers a bit to cover the rapid expansion.

Damn, that's disappointing to hear. Been waiting for 200Mbps Openserve prices to get with the program.

Ok, so the question at the moment is? Is Cool Ideas still the preferred ISP after the gloat of winning the 2018 title? What I’m reading on this post is HELL NO!

Comments anyone? I’m hunting ISP’s

No ISP is perfect, but Cool Ideas is the closest thing to it.

If @Looney is quiet and happy, then yes, do sign up with CISP, else don't. Its quite easy really.

will fiber prices go down next year ?

It is up to consumers. People seem to be easily able to afford any increase and with all the representatives crawling all over myBB forums (classifieds, wealth), company gets feedback what people can afford it.

I see thats so true bud, and yet in overseas the prices of internet are ridiculously cheap

Compared to the other isp's they are still the best. Not perfect but the best one can get here.

Ignore the issues, the only reason you see so many issues on here is because CISP is the only ISP that has a support thread here on mybb...... So it would be natural to see people commenting on issues and the great thing is pbcool always tries to tackle all questions and issues. I also had issues for about a week which was resolved eventually but was on the openserve side. Now I couldn't be more happy with the speeds and performance

People tend to complain faster than they compliment. I've been with Cool Ideas for over 2 years now, and the only issues I've had were Vumatel related.

Correction - People complain when they don't get their money's worth. If I pay 1.5K for my internet - I expect to get every single last Mbps out of it at all times - seeing that its advertised as such ( No Shaping - No Throttling )

I will compliment when it's deserved.

I know there are unavoidable issues that pop up from time to time - that's understandable, but recently we had crap speeds all over the show - i mean just ask @Looney :D

With that said - it HAS been much better over the last week or so.

Jeeez am I that bad... now I feel terrible!

Just came back online from loadshedding in Brackenfell Cape Town. Can't reconnect to net.

Anything rebooting or happening that you can see your side maybe PB?

Or anyone else here in the area having the same issue?

If vumatel trenched, check the ONT that the blue light is not flashing. If it is, it may need a reboot from your side to retry the provisioning. Happened to me once after loadshedding that I needed to reboot it to get rid of the blue flashing light.

People never really say good things about a company on record, but will take time out of the day to say if they not happy with something.
I for one can say I’m extremely happy with cool ideas and have an amazing internet experience. Never slow and my twitch works 100% of the time on source no matter the day hours etc and I push more than 6tb of data in a month. So amazing product and I have since signing got 6 new clients to go their way.

@PBCool Your network engineers worked their magic and twitch is great now.

Whatever they did its like night and day. Twitch has gone from being completely unusable to maybe a handful of buffers at worst during peak period. I'm not ready to close the ticket just yet, I need to go through a Sunday, the worst day of the week, and have this kind of result to say for sure but its looking good so far. from me and kudos to the tech.

There was a change made yesterday which would have affected Cape Town customer and LINX peers, IE Twitch, did you still have the issue yesterday?

@PBCool If at all possible could you elaborate a bit on what was changed? Just curious!

@image132 I was just about to make a post saying the same thing! Past few days have been great for Twitch viewing! Hell, even VODs which have always been problematic seem to work perfectly fine now without buffering.

Great stuff CISP and PBCool! Keep it up!
