@PBCool If at all possible could you elaborate a bit on what was changed? Just curious!

@image132 I was just about to make a post saying the same thing! Past few days have been great for Twitch viewing! Hell, even VODs which have always been problematic seem to work perfectly fine now without buffering.

Great stuff CISP and PBCool! Keep it up! :thumbsup:

Same here, internets has been great this side :thumbsup:

Yea was also about to post that somehow twitch is perfect tonight. Not a single buffer or dropped frame. Lets hope it holds up.

Correction - People complain when they don't get their money's worth. If I pay 1.5K for my internet - I expect to get every single last Mbps out of it at all times - seeing that its advertised as such ( No Shaping - No Throttling )
*snipped*
If you want every single last mbps all the time surely you should be taking a gold class business service from them rather at R5k per month?

You guys don't think LS has something to with it ?
heh.. the 1 guy in the rocketnet thread that has also had a longstanding issue says his is much better as well.

The plot thickens! :D

What should the speedtests on CISP 100meg be more or less? Mate of mine gets 72?

Depends on time of day, server, fibre network, what the network usage is at the time.

Mine currently with a 1080p stream going as well...

Frogfoot, CISP 100/100

I get 95Mb/95Mb, I have contacted cool ideas with regards to this, I get 11.7MB download speed, when in suppose to get arround 12.5mb but I hope it gets resloved

My best speedtest result with 100/50 Openserve fibre and Cool Ideas:

https://speedtest.mybroadband.co.za/result/8796288

:cool:

You can use the share button on your test result page to generate an image link, then just insert it here as an image.

My best speed is generally this:
7849446755.png

My previous house had slightly better latency and 97Mbps. Both on Openserve. Can't do much better from PE.

Thanks, I'm aware of the image function. The one I linked was from MyBB's Speedtest page, which sadly doesn't seem to generate an image (afaik).:unsure:

Fibre is dead in Durbanville, Vumatel trenched. It was working until our load shedding ended at 18:00, and now it is dead. The lights on the CPE box are all on, router is ok - but DHCP to Vumatel / Cool Ideas not working.

Ticket COOL-20181206-185876

@PBCool ^^^

Edit: just got reconnected.

Any ideas why accessing the 'is' news server suddenly doesn't work via cool ideas.. not that I tested via anything else - but now am getting a [Errno 111] Connection refused'
Does anyone know if there are other accessible servers available on CISP not requiring authentication (ISP news servers are usually available without authentication if u a client of the ISP - is there a news.cisp server?)

@PBCool

I would like to share my experience with cool ideas for the past week. Firstly when contacting them to get the tracking number for the courier to help track my router, I was arrogantly told they dont know and I must just use my surname. Hint number 1 these guys are morons right there. I was billed up front for usage before the router even arrived. Since the line was active, I ordered 20mb/20mb, download speeds are mostly at 19mb, but the upload consistently hovers at 1mb. I have lost count of the hours spend phoning support only to be told that the fibre provider frogfoot are at fault not cool ideas, and the amount of screen shots of speed tests emailed. The cape town cool ideas agent came to my house checked and assured me the line was fixed, but alas tonight I sit with the same problem. Cool ideas even told me at the beginning of the week frogfoot found the problem with my line and it is now fixed. All during this process I have been billed up front for the month of December, but I still have not received the service for which I paid for. I contacted support again tonight as normal and again "shame sir we understand your frustrations and we will look into your line", I cannot belive how many times I have heard that crap. Cool Ideas your service is a disgrace all they have done is blame everyone else except themselves, a supervisor "Mdu" arrogantly even said to me "well we are the number 1 ISP in South Africa" to which I replied well great but why then can you not supply me with a functioning line for which I have paid for. This company is a joke and their service is disgusting. I hope this post helps some on here to be weary of these morons when considering an ISP. Oh yes, I still have service from my telkom adsl line which I thankfully decided to only cancel once cool "MORONS-KAK SERVICE" ideas had their line functioning, thanks telkom.

Shame sir
