Sorry to break it to you but I think the problem with RD is not with CISP... the problem lies between SA and the EU my friend.

So how is it that after my first complaint PBCool did something and magically everything was working. I was streaming a 32gb 4k file during peak hours without a single issue. This is clearly a fixable issue because it was fixed before.

You certainly can when you’re paying R1500 per month for a 200/200 uncapped, unshaped, unthrottled connection.

If users on 25mb lines can stream RD perfectly then I shouldn’t even be complaining. I should be cruising along streaming 4k files.

P.S RD is not dodgy.

Coincidence, maybe he didn't do anything or they just changed routing and it went to a different part of the EU via another route.

I am telling you now, you're not going to be successful in getting this to work, probably on several other ISPs who share the same route out of SA to the EU

Did you just choose to ignore what I posted ? There is many many more threads about RD buffering that you could easily find if you spend 2minutes googling.

I agree, here is the rub:
The people at CISP are no fools. Especially not @TheRoDent that dude practically wrote parts of Linux on his own. Out of all the ISPs in SA, they are the best people to have. That means, they understand WTF goes on down to the TCP header and datagram level and probably more than I do. Try and get that kind of knowledge with any other ISP in SA, I challenge you. Most of them don't even know what MTU is and why getting it wrong can cause packet fragmentation. Give Vox Telecom a call and ask them what that is.. for a good laugh. For REAL SHITS AND GIGGLES ask the Afrihost reps here what they think that is- you'll end up doing tons of daily tracerts for them because they are too kak sleg to tell you the truth that their boss is gone on a trip, and nobody gives a shyte. And then there's OpenWeb telling people their modem needs to be attuned to their ADSL line... I don't suffer fools, and that's why in the end I chose Cool Ideas, because if there REALLY is a problem I can go straight to the top and get an honest answer.

No I didn’t ignore, users who have issues streaming RD land up having ISP’s that are shaping services like RD. Oh wait a minute, maybe CISP is shaping services like RD.

How does his setup differ to yours? Have you considered that you might have a misconfiguration?
Honestly though, why bother with these flaky streaming services when the legitimate ones are better- Hell even sailing on the high seas with your pirate hat is easier and yields instant results.

What misconfiguration? I have an ONT box with a router connected to it. I have both a Nvidia Shield and Mi Box.

Because unfortunately you cannot watch everything you want with the legitimate ones. People need to stop thinking that RD is flaky. It’s a legitimate file hosting site. Users who have issues with RD land up having ISP’s that shape those sorts of services. So is CISP shaping then?

No, I doubt it because when I download a RD link with a download manager on my Mac I get full speed. Why, because it uses multithreading. So now I know that my issue has to do with single thread because clearly the streaming boxes don’t use multithreading

So, to summarize and put an end to this is that single threaded downloads are crap on CISP.
