Actually not but the PS doesn't support TCP window scaling so if the content is not available via local sources, Akamai or other CDNs it will get it via an international one. Do some readup on poor performance on PS4s. It's pretty common all over.

dumb question. Wasn't that an old ps3 issue?
 
Well like I said my test didn't show great results about 70% of expected max line speed to the link at time of testing vs your 300KB/s while you state you are on vumatel and CISP same as me.

At this point I can only think its an area problem, vumatel somehow being overloaded before your traffic hit CISP.

Where you able to do a singlethreaded download test to reliable local download to compare at same time to that international testfile ?

First off I only get peak 4MB/s single threaded on that apple download but as you can see its running over CDN which would play a much bigger role on performance depending on what host it actually getting content from.

On 10Gbit host I get just under 300MB/s but I suspect it is pulling data from a locally cached location close to or within the hosted datacenter.

EDIT: connected over VPN to my datacenter to use that as exit point to the apple download and wambam got max out of my line. To me this shows that CISP is not unable or restrictive in singlethreaded downloads however multiple factors based on routing plays a role in affecting the speed on singlethreaded ie. the destination server could be constraint on sending data depending on the routes used due to bandwidth costs/many many factors.

I’ve been a subscriber since July. My main usage is tons and tons of streaming, mainly by my kids and by my wife and I at night.

I’ve never once experienced a second downtime, besides Frogfoot maintenance, and all my streaming is 100% perfect 4K and 1080p. Netflix gets to 4K quality in under 30 seconds and never drops from that.

My general browsing, gaming and downloads are also 100%. Single and only gripe remains Frogfoot’s slow single threaded download speeds from overseas. Easily overcome with a multi threaded download manager though.

I think CISP picks up a lot of flack for issues caused by fibre providers, as well as being the most active members of the forum by far. Paul must have multiple ulcers at this point, I think we should start a GoFundMe for him to get a lifetime supply of Gaviscon. :P

The issue about single threaded performance mainly in browsers to me seems more isolated to remote hosts throttling their upload speed per singlethread based on destination location and various other potential reasons.

In many cases I would test a singlethreaded download to one international host in the US that max out my line then on another US host I might get 10% of my max speed on singlethread, both cases in standard browser download. The moment I multithread the slow download it max out my line.

The only explanation I can have for the 2 examples in direct comparison is that it is not a case of CISP throttling singlethreaded download speed but something to do with the actual host you are downloading from handling upload traffic differently. If CISP actually throttled singlethreaded downloads then any and all international hosts would show the same singlethreaded performance and thats just not the case.

That latency to broadcast seems extremely high, 18 seconds ? I must confess I do not usually look at the stats on twitch so not too familiar with normal latency but 18 seconds latency vs 1second buffer size might be why you are stuttering.

Nothing showing up on my side. Doubt that will fix my buffering issues though.

Edit: Ah there we go. Restarted Shield and there it is.

Hi

Had Vuma install my CPE today (early evening), have logged onto the portal and setup account. Now what do I do? Do I wait for 15min then reboot CPE? Do I have to contact Cool Ideas or will this be all automated? Thanks for the help.
