So this is due to TCP window scaling, Windows 7 and newer versions support the scaling to assist in single threaded TCP streams. There isn't much aside from trying to do application acceleration for all the traffic which then introduces additional complexities. It would be best for Twitch to deploy a local CDN.

Was using twitch as the easy example :) Will look some more into TCP scaling

So i did a little bit of testing to my server in the netherlands which i think might explain many of the issues people might be having with twitch and other bandwidth intensive tasks to Europe.

So basically single threaded downloads seem to plateau for me at speeds of +- 600 kb/s
So i tried multi threaded and BAM, i could completely saturate my 100mb/s...
Only thing that bothers me, is that i had to use 32 Threads to do it!

This would explain why twitch for instance is so bad, we are just not getting much throughput on single threaded or single pipe applications.

@PBCool I hope you guys can look into this and come to a solution for the issue.

It's sad because it never used to be like this. I used to get peaks of 1600 kb/s with an average of like 800 which was plenty for source. Then something changed and suddenly my 20mb line could no longer do source at all and most of the time had to watch on low or medium.

What latency do you guys get when gaming on EU servers?
Things like League of Legends, PUBG, Overwatch etc.

Those pings under a 150ms look good.

Try again for me.

Those results were to an Overwatch EU server.

I normally get between 150-160ms for League, PUBG, and Overwatch over wireless router.

I am not sure I understand invoices from Cool Ideas.

On the invoice I received today, it says the due date is the same date it was invoiced?

Tax Invoice #65255
Invoice Date: 30/08/2017
Due Date: 30/08/2017

So like you give me an invoice, and expect it to be paid on the same day? Is this correct or am I misunderstanding this.

Edit:
Double checked invoices from other companies, and they all have an invoice date of the day I receive it, with 2-3 weeks time for the due date.

So I am still a bit confused. Note, I have opted to use the Payfast payment time instead of a debit order if that makes a difference.

Hi There, this was back and forth with fibrehoods, they handed it back to us and it still wasn't working, we had to go back to their technical and have it reconfigured again. Unfortunately a lot of back and forth between parties before getting anywhere. Fibrehoods are now re-configuring the line.

EDIT: I see your account is now online :)

Services are COD so due date is on the day of invoice? If you were on debit order you would be debited the evening of the invoice being generated.

Yeah I agree with the debit order going off on the same date the invoice is due, but even if it is COD, wouldn't it make sense to give me time to pay the invoice?

The only time it would be better, is if you could do automated CC payments then I will be ok with it.

But the thing is, if I get this email, and I am not able to get to a PC on that same day I received it, how can you expect the payment on the same day? You know, send it a few days in advance and give me time to make sure I get the payment to you.

There is a grace period, it's purely a technicality from a billing/accounting perspective, if we send it in advance people will complain they are being billed too early etc. It's all about trying to make everyone happy and still get your payments in that is quite tricky.

Yeah got your mails sorry for the delayed reply I've just got home :). You would apply through us, we log on their portal who then arrange with you directly. No startup fees.

Yeap since Britelink took over the contracting for aerial it's messed up the process for almost every installation. Apologies for the frustration!

Also. I was told the router i collected would be pre configured
I assumed that meant plug and play. Not the case. Didnt receive any guidance nor credentials until i called cool ideas for what feels like the 100th time in 3 days. So please dont create a false expectation like that
