Performance is poor. Even local http/ftp downloads - using a download manager. Not even going to log a ticket, since support will again only get back to me in 2 days. Not very happy with Cool Ideas, as this seems to be happen more often now.
100/100. Durbanville. Trenched. Vumatel.

I see PBCool is a bit MIA in this thread.
Anyways, I can definitely see the internet go to crap from around 5:30pm, and it lasts anywhere until 11:30pm
So my guess is someone is being a typical accountant somewhere and there's not enough bandwidth.
I am not going to log tickets because its a futile exercise but I am going to try and do a different tactic here. I am going to engage with Paul and get information on who's who at Octotel (for me at least) and do some digging via LinkedIn and social media

Definitely going out of your way here IMHO. It’s not your job to figure these things out and to deal with it yourself. That’s PBCool’s and CISP. You’re paying them. At least request that CISP pay you back for doing their job.

So should I sign up with Cool Ideas or not? Using OpenServe? Should I go with someone else?

Coolideas are amazing ISP. I for one have no issues at all on 100/100 Vumatel trenched. My mom is on CISP Openserv and also dont have issues, although her usage is only streaming showmax, voip ect.

And loss to JHB has flared up too.

I suspect, and I suspect more and more every day that the problem is not CISP, but the FISPs, some of them are clearly proving how fly-by-night they are. It also appears that CISP is struggling to get joy out of them too.
CISP is a great ISP, unfortunately when the infrastructure is crap then not much they can do either

Anyone having problems?last 30 mins cannot connect to showmax or netflix..honeydew..vuma aerial

6 of the one, half a dozen of the other. Much of a muchness. I guess it depends who you ask. I think the pertinent question is who should you avoid?

Hellopeter.com is also a good yardstick. Check supplier ratings on there to get an idea of who customers are least unhappy with (just about everyone on hellopeter are there to complain).

Yep, i noticed this too. Feels like this intermittent packetloss to jhb will never get fixed because its been going on for months.

@sand_man you should send all those through to CISP and ask them to get the line provider to recheck your config.
and around and around and around we go.

It's been 60 days for a simple config change.

EDIT: Somebody's not doing their job.
