And who exactly are these ISPs? I have never heard of them, they are all new, and possibly fly-by-night outfits.
I am sorry but I've been burnt many times over a period of 10 years to not trust any new/young ISPs
Macrolan is very good, we have quite a few enterprise packages with them for a few years now and never had an issue. They were also recently acquired by Seacom.

How do I get this sorted? Continuously bouncing between 160 -190+. Some nights perfect other nights not so much, 2 months this has been going on hoping this would be fixed at some point.
You should probably log a ticket if you have seen this going on for months, I see it has been pretty bad since Friday night just before midnight, it seems to be mostly US servers, but also:

I am seeing packet loss though, but the speed is there. I am seeing MyBB stutter with loading, and downloads from overseas fall over, but when I resume they come right back up. So those who are pointing out the packet loss are telling the truth.
Which fibre network are you on? No packet loss my side, can do some tests though to double check, which destination?

But dude, if you are worried about your iperf tests, the only thing I can think of is you have a problem with your actual Fibre line and it’s never going to improve unless you have CISP get Vumatel to install a new line for you.
Its more likely a line configuration issue. Not a physical fault.

Fair enough. With Octotel you have a bunch of options actually. Home-connect/Cipherwave, Supersonic, Rocketnet, Macrolan, C-Fibre.

Not encouraging you to switch but if I had a bad experience like what the last few pages are all about then I would have sent my cancellation already.
Like @ArtyLoop has said, I suspect my issue is congestion on Octotels part. The C word that seems to be taboo in this country. The problem is like most Fisps Octotel seems to refuse to acknowledge it let alone do something about and what exacerbates the issue is that CISP's support is, how can I put this nicely, "lackluster" at best.

So I go months without hearing from CISP about whats happening between them Octotel, I don't even know if they've told Octotel. Last I heard is that the support agent forwarded my iperf tests to the CISP engineer. That's all that's happened. So here I sit day in and day out with internet that's nearly useless in the evenings. Praying something gets done between CISP and Octotel.

If that is the case then yes changing won't solve any issue. I believe Octotel also uses Gpon. Unlikely but the OLT could be congested but very unlikely unless a number of 200Mbps and 100Mbps users max their lines during peak times.

Just wanted to comment that I've had a 20/2 service from Cool Ideas, via Vumatel fiber, for just over a month now and the experience has been awesome! Consistent speeds, great ping for local and international gaming, good customer service, nice online client area. No complaints. Thanks CISP! :)
