Of course, every Tom, Dick and Harry is at home streaming... so the throttling is on the go because the FISP Boss is saving money.. Will rather chase customers away than do CAPEX

Damn even a congested cell tower and you using LTE will be better than that. Well at least your latency is still decent. :)

It can be but it's a gamble. As I mentioned before 1 OLT can do 2.5Gbps and handle 64 fibre lines. That will still leave about 39Mbps for each user if everyone had a 39Mbps or higher fibre line.

I don't think the slowness you guys are seeing could be OLT congestion. I'm not sure how an OLT handles traffic in this situation but I don't think it will allow the speedsters hog all the bandwidth and others suffer. It will be a bit of a balanced affair. I think something else at play here.

Now you understand why I'm so annoyed. Twitch doesn't require 100mb/s. It just need 6-8 to work properly yet I can't even get that in the evenings. Its unbelievable.

My Twitch streams at 6Mbps but I still get constant buffering at 720p60. Wish it would use the other 14Mbps :(

You can always use the "Alternate player for Twitch" plugin for your browser. It creates multiple threads to the same stream which bypasses the buffering bottleneck in most cases. I know with fibre one shouldn't need something like that, but at least you can stream 1080p without buffering while they sort the issues / kinks out.

Thanks! Will give it a shot tonight - hope it works. I don't mind this being a permanent solution - I'm highly doubtful that they'll ever sort the kinks out...

I have no issues with Twitch streaming on Openserve. Praeses is on Frogfoot and has issues. So I'm thinking its more of a "region problem" with the FNO than ISP.

Definite issues on my Frogfoot line with CISP. I have a ticket open with CISP regarding this, so hopefully something gets fixed.

Ahhh those super duper uncapped unthrottled gold gaming next lvl silver bronze accounts that was shared. userstats.isdsl.net showing multiple connections to the same account and Keoma denying that account are shared. They made and still is making a lot of money with those accounts. Buy 1 x 100Mbps uncapped account directly from IS and just resell it to 4 x 100Mbps fibre clients. Super Profits.

Brings back memories :ROFL:

Frogfoot are doing some independent testing of a few customers, I believe you are one of them. So will see what comes of it.
