Cool Ideas Fibre ISP - Feedback

PBCool, I watch monitoring the network performance window last night whilst I was playing some games. So fortnite(AWS) seems to connect to multiple IP's throughout a match. Now my theory is that some of those IP's actually route fine over the Angola side but then some of the other IP's still route through EU to Brazil or somewhere else to Brazil, hence the 250 Ping in game then all the way down to 150 ping. Is there any way from your side to force these specific IP's to route through the Angola cable?

Unfortunately not, at least not until we have our own pops in place.
 
@PBCool How can I get my issue with inconsistent speeds between CISP and Netstream resolved? The speeds go between fast and slow, worse than my previous LTE(RAIN) solution. It also only affects my download speeds, upload speeds seem fine most of the time, but download gets really bad. I would expect Fibre to be more stable than LTE. I have been with CISP for a month, and in that whole time, I have been trying to get this resolved.

Below speed test at 17:46 and again at 20:35 it's always the download speed getting affected.

1st download is a youtube video, 2nd is Apple ipsw (not sure where cached but always runs at max line speed), 3rd, 4th and 5th are off of rapidgator premium file sharing site. I think the 32 connections got a bit too much for the rapidgator servers and connections were closed. But check it out...

I dont think any(or should I say many?) consumer understand that 1Gbps internet connection, is _NOT_ the same as 1Gbps LAN.
On LAN, its incredibly easy to max out a 1Gbps LAN connection. However on the internet, the latency from server to client makes a massive difference, the higher the less the speed.

I remember when I worked at an ISP, and we just got our 200Mbps internet pipe that was meant for our then building IPC network. We tested that pipe, and maxing it out wasn't easy. Back then SSDs wasn't widespread at all, so most servers were running spinning rust. We couldn't max out that 200Mbps pipe from a single client PC, we had to use multiple pcs with mutiple threads and applications to get as much as possible out of it from international destinations.

A lot has changed since then and its easier nowadays, but anything faster than a 100Mbps internet connection doesn't make sense to me, unless you uploading/downloading to servers within South Africa, or you share the connection with multiple people, like if it was a commune with 10 people I could see the point, but again even a 100Mbps connection will do just fine.

What I've noticed with IDM, when it's saving completed files to the hard drive, other downloads slow, sometimes stop altogether. I think the bottleneck is read/write but I stand under correction. Could just be the program battling to co-ordinate multiple operations.

Agreed. I briefly considered a 1Gbps line just for the awesome thought of it, but not even using my 100Mbps line to its full capacity so would be a waste.

I would purely get a 1Gbs line for bragging rights. There is no way I can fully utilize it.
 
Funny enough though - 100Mbps has almost become the new "10Mbps ADSL" we used to get from Telscum back in the day. One of these days 1Gbps wil be the new "100Mps" and so on...

Please make sure you manually set DNS to 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8

Real Debrid has been super smooth since I've implemented this.
 
@PBCool Any news about the vumatel situation in Benoni... very bad time for me to be without internet...
