Because thats not the only limitation on an access network! From that specific device, the data still need to get to the various ISPs. Backhaul from your local area to the ISP handover can also get congested. I have no insight into Octotel's network, but I imagine there are more points where congestion can happen.
Cheers thanks.

At least with ADSL, and your line was with Telkom, you could log a dispute when your line wasn't working and would get a prorata credit for the days that you were down.

Maybe I should enable my 20mb adsl again.

I applied for 50/50 Vumatel line in October through Vuma's website, I'm still waiting for fibre to be brought in with CPE and LTE is getting expensive.

This will in all likely hood go nowhere - ISPs will blame Octotel - Octotel will blame ISPs - the people paying are ultimately the losers.

Getting really shitty latency spikes in Diablo - EUW.

Vumatel / CISP / 200 / 200.

I see you are going to work with another ISP(Which happen to have started responding to questions yesterday) to prove that the issue is not with Octotel. That should be interesting. If CISP has been caught lying then they need to be called out on it. If not then well Octotel has some explaining to do.

Yes.

Can't switch between ISPs.. But currently getting much better performance on new ISP than I was yesterday this time on CISP.

I'll see how it goes in a couple of hours.

Awesome so I'm guessing you switched completely and done with CISP unless you switch back. Sadly the way most fibre operators work except Openserve. Well do your same tests and see how it compares and obviously it would be nice to see some feedback in that thread.

Interesting times

Who'd you switch to? You allowed to say?

Unfortunately too soon to say - might even go back to ADSL - I got a constant 40Mbs without these issues.

Not sure - at this stage I won't - pointless dragging them into it if it doesn't work out.
