Yip - but it doesn't look like it's going to - still going to try a few things - but I'm currently back down to 5Mbps

By Octotel's generic copy and paste responses - I'm sure they'll still blame the ISPs.

I've noticed weird stuff like this too. Whatsapp will randomly not want to send messages, twitter doesn't load pictures or fails to update, my phone picks 4g over wifi. Now that I think about it packet loss makes sense here.

I am not going to have time tonight to do diagnostics on my line. Sorry but my wife is not well.
But ja... Whatsapp over the FTTH is awful... my friends are ragging me because the effing pictures won’t download and I am clueless about the jokes
 
Haha - I've had the same - have to disconnect from home wifi to download whatsapp media.

Ok so to read through a 700 page thread isn't gonna happen.

I'm looking at getting the R499 10down 5up package with Cool Ideas on Open Serve in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town area. What is everyone's experience with Cool Ideas and Open serve in general?

Generally OpenServe is the only infrastructure provider that doesn't seem to have issues. I have no complaints on OpenServe in Durban on CoolIdeas.

Can't comment on the Cool Ideas network but Openserve is pretty good.
