Thats the problem with some UPSs. They not meant for long run times. Inverters are meant for long run times.
My Little RCT's survives a 4HR load shed and they are only 1KVa each, one only carries the CPE though and the other one has a bit more load ( USG,8Port Switch & AP running over PoE, RaspberriPi with external USB drive connected )

That's good. Just remember, never said it can't work, but that it's not meant to be used like that.

So, did anyone experience a storm after load shedding? Was connected to Vuma soon after load shedding today.

Line synced right after loadshedding this time around. Got an IP only hour later but traffic was unusable for another 45minutes.

So in all it took about 2hrs from loadshedding ending to having usable internet.

Installed new batteries yesterday.

the only thing is, it runs for 15min at a time and then it turns off automatically. So I have to turn it back on. And I could not find anything in its software to force it to say on for longer than that without having the pc connected to the UPS via the usb cable, but that drains the UPS to fast, like within 49 minutes. But I am ok with that, small nuisance, I can keep my CPE and Wifi Router going and then work of the phone, ipad and laptop.
It could be that the load is too low so the UPS goes into power saving mode. Try to plug something else into the UPS as well and see if it stays on?

Likewise. My 2000va RCT has been gutted and connected to a 135ah battery bank that runs my 55” LED TV, amp and surround sound, PS4, Media Player and a lamp. Another 1000va one for the fibre ONT, router, access point and NAS.

Been running for almost 4 years now without issue.

Just need to make sure the UPS has a decent charger if connecting to a bigger battery bank, which the RCT 2000va does indeed have.

So Frogfoot did 12 hours of maintenance in my area today, look at my new single threaded speeds on my 20/20 line:

Quite an improvement from my 4Mbps down!

I'd imagine that is your most significant bargaining tool when trying to get some action out of these guys? Especially if other ISP's are experiencing the same and prepared to sanction in a similar fashion?

EDIT: Unfortunately it's a solution that cuts both ways...

Regarding the Octotel issues we are dealing with currently from a technical and commercial perspective, the technical is always the priority to restore services to what they should be and then tackle it on a commerical from a refund perspective etc. If the technical doesn't resolve in a reasonable period of time we stop taking orders on that network like we did with TTConnect.

Hi PBCool

I am a current customer with CI with TTconnect (only option)

I understand the issues with TTconnect but even though you stopped new orders, the service is getting worse for existing customers. We have intermittent drops constantly where we cannot even stream movies. TTconnect playing dumb and blaming ISPs

How can we take this up as a consumer to force them to fix the issues

Appreciate the feedback and guidance

Well my internet is pretty much dead tonight, less than 1Mbps both local and international. Can't even load websites and me asking for feedback is just being ignored...

Is OK here, Vuma trenched, Brackenfell. Load-shedding starts in 2min.

I'm one of the unlucky souls that is struggling with congestion. It's been like this since end of October 2018. My ADSL line was more reliable than this...

Do you have a ticket number for me to investigate its status?
