Are the speeds not dependent on the infrastructure? For my area, the infrastructure is hosted by Metrofibre and I have been experiencing very inconsistent international speeds. Would it make a difference if I switch ISPs?

Edit: I'm not on Cool Ideas

Not feedback on the service but the site (sorry if the wrong place). We tried to place an order for a capped Fibre account. I assumed by choosing that this is a 'new installation' we would then be assisted with the installation, but instead went straight to having a live account and being billed. This isn't very clear. Still want a fibre line, and would want Cool Ideas as ISP, but now looking elsewhere to get the installation done.

Sorry misunderstanding this, you applied with us for a capped account?

Not at all, your last mile can be fine and the upstream and breakouts throttled or saturated. I would say switch but bias naturally.

Is there an activation fee if I switch from another ISP?

So I lodged an application yesterday morning on the website, but have not received any confirmation or e-mail stating that my application was received. Did I do something wrong or is there suppose to be an application confirmation e-mail?

Someone will come back to you with feedback once there is some from the operator, it looks like there is an issue on the automated responses but the mails will be logged.

Have emailed Cool Ideas 3 times using their website, never get a response, maybe their rep could contact me... Thanks.

I have a similar situation so I contacted PBCool, who then asked me to send further emails. After bugging him a few more times, I eventually got a poor response from Cool Ideas.

I live in an area covered by TTConnect. I asked Cool Ideas to assist in getting fibre installed my complex but the response I got was TTConnect would have to come do a site survey. I knew that much already. I needed Cool Ideas to communicate with TTConnect and get them to my complex.

Yesterday, after that email exchange, I emailed TTConnect directly with the same query. Today a sales consultant from Fredd emailed and called me about my installation. Cool ;) I asked the sales consultant about just getting a line installed and she said that TTConnect does deal directly with customers, the new line application must come from an ISP.

Fredd is also owned by Tesuco. Is TTConnect deliberately delaying other ISP's in order to push their own in house ISP?

How does one go about getting the modem from Cool Ideas? They are coming to install the line to the house on Friday and I preferably would want to be able to use it by Friday. Is there someone I should email or an option i should select on the Cool Ideas Client portal?

Thanks in advance.

Drop me a mail on paul at cisp.co.za and I can follow up what happened to your mails.
