Been asking for a while if anything can be done / looked at with Origin downloads / updates. They're ridiculously slow.

Edit: There's a 3gb update to Apex Legends out. I'm currently getting 625kb/sec.

What command did you run here?
First one was "iperf3.exe -R -u -b 20M -p 17001 -c iperf.cisp.co.za" second one was "iperf3.exe -R -u -b 20M -p 17001 -c lnms.cisp.co.za"

This is how it currently looks:

iperf3.exe -R -u -b 20M -p 17001 -c iperf.cisp.co.za

@PBCool , slightly off topic but I’m considering getting a UPC for my fiber router to stay connected during the power outages. This would be useless though if the fiber line went down too (unable to verify). For the MTN fiber in lonehill specifically, do you know if they have a solution in place to ensure the fiber remains active for the 4.5 hour outages?

For those struggling with Origin downloads, this fix seems to work wonders:

Close Origin, then edit EACore.ini in your C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin directory. It should be empty, add these lines:

Code:
[connection]
EnvironmentName=production

[Feature]
CdnOverride=akamai
Restart Origin and start your download again. I went from struggling to finish a download at 625kb/sec to almost full line speed. Hope it helps others.

On the other end of the spectrum, international downloads are now down to less than half line speed, even with 60 connections.

EDIT: NNTP is struggling to maintain 3MB/sec on a 200mbps line. Hope you guys find a way to mitigate this DDoS attack soon.

Have been having weird dc issues, where the connection just drops and stays down. Only forcefully re-entering the CI details lets it sometimes reconnect. This is something new that only started happening in the past day or two.

Yup can confirm. Octotel, Southern Suburbs is pretty broken right now.

But it looks to me like they're changing routes or its the DDOS rubbish again.

That "enetworks" is the same thing that happened to me last night. I have no idea what it is, why it has nearly 50% loss or why I'm getting routed over it but it happened to me last night when my internet basically died. The cogent routing looks normal to me.

Loss along a path is insignificant and quite normal, it's to the destination that is significant. From your last post it looks like loss across your LAN.
PBCool do you know how to read the MTR printout ? Loss across my lan ? lol

None of the screenshots of the mtr printout had a single packetloss on my local network in those printouts.

The FIRST number is the loss %

I do wonder what this person is gaining in getting DDoS attacks going CISPs way. Or who on CISP they attacking. Unless the point is to annoy CISPs customers for whatever reason.

This is getting highly annoying. Even my SSH sessions to servers in Germany are high latency and experiencing what looks like packet loss.
