As things stand there is no transfer feature, so you need to cancel and move (this is for the line specifically) we will only ever bill you for one account though from our side. Drop me a mail paul at cisp.co.za and I'll have someone overlook the process for you.

Thanks, dropped you a mail now.

This is a very confusing system. I thought when I said I was a current customer during the fibrehoods installation process, and was asked if I was cancelling my old line this would all happen without me having to jump through a hoop or two.

Edit: Sorted now :)

Got my fibre through SADV with CISP. Applied on Monday and installation happened this morning. Took 10 mins. Great service from both providers. I'm very happy!

@PBCool is there a problem with the billing department this month? I logged on to pay my subs for the month and noticed that an invoice was not generated.

Weekend does this, you will be emailed your invoice once generated so just keep an eye out.

New application in for Wilropark (scheduled to go live by 31 August 2017).

I'm looking forward to being part of the family.

Help to connect Huawei E5186 to Vumatel ONT.

So, I had fiber connected last night.

All well so far. Vumatel installed the ONT and the blue and orange lights are flashing.

Selected and activated the cool ideas 100Mbps uncapped.

I did a speedtest directly from the ONT, all well.

When I connect the LAN 1 from the ONT to the WAN of the Huawei E5186, then the pooh pooh starts.

I can't seem to get any connection out from the Huawei. I tried resetting to factory, I tried quick setup, and changing DHCP but no luck.

Can someone give me some clues?

Thanks

Vuma uses the MAC address of the device / router through which you signed up to 'authenticate'.
You have 2 choices....get CISP / Vuma to change the registered MAC address to the router (slower)..... or find the setting where you can clone a MAC address on the router and add the laptop MAC address (probably the wired one) in there (this one is faster if you know how and assuming your router can clone MAC address)....

Interesting. So I need to clone the original Mac address that I used during initial setup (this is the laptop I used when plugged in directly to the ONT)?

I think the E5186 can clone Mac addresses. Is there any thing special I need to do?

Yes to first question.
Second question.. you need to login to the router and find where you capture / edit the Mac...

Hopefully Bob's you aunty after that...

I appreciate your input.

We have a meeting scheduled for Tuesday, will update from there.

Hi @PBCool, any update on the outcome of these meetings with TTConnect regarding the issues on their network in the Edenvale area?

Still ongoing unfortunately, we have made some steps to try and narrow down which leg of the network is causing grief specifically.

Thanks @PBCool. Please keep us updated on progress - I would like to place my fibre order through Cool Ideas asap

Can I upgrade to the 200Mb/200Mb package at midnight?

@PBCool , are we going to see the new 200/200Meg packages added to the Vumatel order portal, trying to pre-order in a new area ? So far I see the highest speed is still 100/100 even though the 200Megs is now available via your website? What to do if one wants to pre-order 200Megs on Vumatel? Thanks :)

In theory yes, in practice no the packages didn't automatically publish as they should have. But you can now.
