Want to sign up for Cool Ideas Voip. On Wed, tried do online, the portal is aimed at new customers. I'm an existing customer wanting to add VOIP to my account. Phoned CI, spoke to Nicky who advised I email support with a request for the relevant application forms to be mailed...get all sorts of generic replies...send more emails...same result...it is now three days going around in circles, have got no further than where I was on Wed 24th. Is Voip still available at CI? I know there are good free Voip providers Freshphone, Swithtel but I am a believer that free might not be..@PBCool, please help...latest ticket..#COOL-20181025-164475 - VOIP service.
There is a VOIP application form, have you completed that as yet. Will check your ticket as to what went wrong.

Cool Ideas support - how long turnaround time on tickets opened on website? Been waiting more than 24 hours without a response....
Do you have a ticket number for me?

Got the same issue. I seldom get anything more than 2-3mb when downloading UK nvidia drivers. Ironically if I download the US ones they absolutely fly, 7-10mb easy. No idea why its like it but I don't think its related to CISP.
Correct Nvidia controls the bandwidth per session, they also use Akamai which is why sometimes it will come down at line speed from a local cluster vs from a source server in the UK/US.

Is the SACS routing live yet?
It is, but it is a new service from Angola Cables, so it's a limited transit service at the moment. Their DC in Fortaleza should be completed in February 2019 which we will then have our own pop in place which will give us some more control.

@PBCool
I'm not sure if its just on vumatel in cape town, but the routing that is taken on sacs differs to what the core network is doing in some instances.

Example, this is what the return path should look like:
154 routing.png

But its doing this:
155 routing.png

Is it possible if you could change this?

Is there a way to see how much data I've used so far? @PBCool I've checked my account online and I don't see anything relating to the data usage.

Cool Ideas doesn't track usage as they have no FUP. Use a free tool or try Glasswire (something along those lines if I didn't butcher the name). :)

I have also enquired about this and was advised that the tool was removed due to it inaccuracy. The is no short term plan to introduce it right now. This was what I was told. It no biggies for me...

True for most, but mine was 400KB/sec on a 100Mbps line which no matter where the source server is, is ridiculous. I can try any international download site and that’s about the max I get.

This evening mine is a lot slower than usual . . . don't know what to say tbh.

I love almost everything about cool ideas.

The only gripe I have is the radio silence when there is A problem. The support desk plead ignorance and there is a few days that pass between each response. This is all that needs to be fixed

@PBCool I logged a ticket with your support guys this week. We have a VOIP phone supplied through you guys and when we try and use it we get a "Line Forbidden" error.

Please advise.

Agreed and when you have a problem lets say once every 2 weeks or few days. The same issue they will respond back saying oh i see its online now after like 12+ hours so let me close the ticket as its all fine. Well yeah its too late now but how about you make sure that problem doesnt happen again after i reopen the ticket all the time. The mfn issue that has been going on for 2-3 weeks now in the evenings, every now and then.

That seems odd, I just tested(altho its 5am on a sunday) and I got just shy of full 200Mbit from nvidia downloading latest driver. If I remember ill try during peak hours in the week and see if its somewhat similar or not.

I am on Vumatel. If you are not on Vumatel, what network are you on even though it should only matter for local peering and if you get full local speed then international peering handled by Coolideas should be somewhat identical.

I’m on Frogfoot, seems to be a common issue.
