I've found Steam auto selects Johannesburg as the default download location even though i'm in cape town. And have found the the Johannesburg steam download speed is much better than the cape town one. Wonder why.
 
It will only cancel tonight at 12 if they did it today, you can have them shelve the current service which would then allow us to order a package. Or just wait until tomorrow morning and do it yourself.

Thanks. It's now been shelved, but I didn't take any note of my instance number, which I fear you might need to set up the line. If there is something I can do to get it working tonight, please advise, else I suppose the Vuma portal will work tomorrow (I can't access it now).

Anyone interested how my tests compared between the Openserve ( Telkom ) test account and my CISP account - have a look at the attached. These tests ( not very scientific ) were done between 8:00pm and 8:30pm.

If I run the test using the 100Mb parameters the results are great but using the 200Mb parameters, not so great...

I'm a Cool Ideas subscriber on the Vumatel fibre network and have the following issue:

I use an online platform with IE11 using Silverlight plug-in. When I connect to this network using my mobile internet device, it work flawlessly, but when I switch over to my fiber connection, it fails to load. When working on a Telkom fibre line, it works, so something or someone at Cool Ideas or Vumatel is blocking this website or something is wrong. Any advice? (I know that one of the mobile network has Fortinet which blocks this service and took some configuring to fix, if this might provide any clues....)

I opened a ticket with Cool Ideas #COOL-20181026-164868, which, after nearly 2 weeks was just closed without any resolution or feedback, hence my question to this forum - hopefully someone can help!

Could be CISP's ip ranges are not whitelisted on the Fortinet. But without more technical details will be difficult to diagnose.

LOL!

So, Frogfoot just called me and said they see I have a ticket logged with CISP regarding slow international and wanted to explain to me that international bandwidth has many more hops, etc, and I shouldn't expect the same performance as local. I explained that having worked in IT infrastructure for the past 15 years I understand the basics of networking and don't expect the same performance as local. I do however expect to get more than 5% - 10% of my line speed to international.

Apparently they disagree and say 10% to international on a 100Mbps line is to be expected and they don't believe people get higher than this, they actually requested screenshots of people getting higher.

So, I give up. I find it shocking they have people who claim to be proficient in networking telling this to clients...

Have you tried the support for the online platform? They may actually be the correct people to contact if their fortinet is blocking CISPs IP ranges.

Is it Vumatel aerial or Trenched? This sounds MTU related.
