I wish is can find out what is causing this - how can upload die like this in a matter of minutes. It's like a switch is flicked and it just dies- but download is still full speed.

10PM - upload speed back to normal . . .

Anyone know what can cause this : exactly 8PM - 10PM upload dies ??? I asked someone else in our complex and he saw EXACTLY the same thing - he is with Axxess on Openserve.

Very very weird indeed. What's even more odd, is that someone in your complex on a different ISP is experiencing the same

My performance has been quite good tonight. My wife and I managed to watch the 8pm movie on DSTV Now on my Mi Box without any issues in 1080p. At the same time I fired up a Twitch stream on my phone in 1080p and too ran quite good, until it started buffering and dropped it to 720p. Streaming 1080p in Twitch without the browser addon right now and it runs silky smooth. Will keep on monitoring it again tomorrow night during peak and see if I get the same, but there is some change tonight with regards to streaming performance on Openserve for me :)

You and I seem to swap when we have twitch issues.

Glad to hear you've come right though.

My only thinking is that it could be the infrastructure provider doing some back ground stuff to the fibre to control congestion etc.

You'd think something like that hey ! - but they assure me hand on heart that they do not control our speeds at all, and that its purely in the hands of the ISP, so i'm dumbfounded. I emailed my contact at OS earlier with the evidence of what i found, with my neighbours as witnesses to this, so I'll hear what he says.

Does anyone use the skyworth binge tv box?, if so does the 5.1 surround sound works?.

Reading this thread, I can't decide if only a few people are having bad experiences or I should cancel my pre-order before I end up with the same issues.

Hoping someone can help me. I've given up on calling Cool Ideas for help as I just get ticket for ticket (Honestly lost count how many).

I seem to always have packet loss, no matter the time of day. Was playing CSGO at 2 AM Saturday and had packet spikes from 0 - 25%. I'm sure everyone can agree that's a bit much.

What tool/s can I use to check my packet loss on my network? Almost like a continuous ping type of setup? Would appreciate any help.

I've complained quite a bit on this forum, but my frustration is not aimed at CISP necessarily. My problem is I don't know where the issue lies that I'm experiencing, and neither CISP nor OS ( in my case ) sees an issue on their end. I have checked ALL my own equipment, and see no issue there either. So I'm at a loss.

My issues only happens from about 7PM till 10PM - maybe 11PM tops. But usually after 10PM things return to normal ( see my speedtest results posted a few posts back here : https://mybroadband.co.za/forum/threads/cool-ideas-fibre-isp-feedback.793061/post-22470890)

All signs lead to me believe that its congestion - because that's all that can explain my speeds dying between 7 and 10, but OS assures me that my exchange is definitely not congested - so I'm left not knowing where the issue lies.

I'm going to request a Telkom test account again ( they are only valid for 24 hrs ), and then if i still have issues tonight - punch that into my router and see what happens. I tried my Afrihost free 1GB account - but it doesnt work on fibre it seems.

CISP is definitely the better of the ISPS out there. Most people commenting here do so to troubleshoot and fix very specific issues and mostly latency related, gamers and live streamers want the shortest paths. At least CISP have representation on this forum and actually look into the reports and fix them, cant day the same for other ISPs.

I have been with CISP for a year now and have only had one issue, which turned out to be a Vumatel capacity issue in the end and not CISP related, other than that no problems and I am a fairly heavy user doing 100+ GB per day. So far no signs of shaping or throttling detected.
