If files fail to download on Crystal Webs news server, is that the file or server?
I agree. Keep pricing as is and as always reinvest into the network and the product offering.
I for one would love to see...oh I dunno...maybe some data roll-over on capped accountsWon't be greedy...2 months should be plenty ^_^ Hehe.
You'll have to ask on chat or contact their Fibre department. Is there any way to find out the pricing for Telkom Fibre bundles?
Hey all,
I am unfortunately very much man-down right now with a rather severe case of food poisoning. Been in and out of hospital the last few days as a result.
I am still working behind the scenes (body-permitting) but monitoring here and posting is quite a mission combined with trying to stay abreast of day-to-day work.
As for Telkom cuts, it's premature to make any definitive calls just yet - we weren't asked for comment by MyBB for the latest article as used to happen, which does make it a little more difficult to get the word out in any ubiquitous fashion, but there are some interesting developments on that front that we've picked up on. Discounts are volume-tiered, directed towards smaller players (which we are not, considering our IPC network size) and based on a few other factors that will play out in an interesting manner.
Unfortunately, while there is a more widespread call for better quality service (something we've been living by and calling for, for ages now), it only takes one or two ISPs to do their usual "race-to-the-bottom" on pricing to spoil it, and we are wary of this at all times.
@Bryn: I'm in the process of looking in-depth into the premium news server to see where we can identify the packets queuing up on these faster connections. They have the same config as everyone else on our network controllers so it's unlikely to be happening here, but I am on it to see where we can fix it if the problem resides on our side...
Wait doesn't Crystal Web use Internet Solutions?
Wait doesn't Crystal Web use Internet Solutions?
They don't resell or have accounts managed by IS anymore. This changed last year...March?...I believe when CW took over all account management and the rest. They still use IS as the upstream provider, but they (CW) is in full control of all data management and routing for their network and clients.
Think I got that right...
Yes, but those contracts are not the only agreements in place nor are our agreements necessarily plain vanilla. They're also proprietary and not for public debate...
Oh thats dank, but their account still authenticate on http://users.isdsl.net and CW still uses http://connectivity.is to manage their accounts according to Mi(c?)key from support. Unless this changed?
Yes, our accounts authenticate using IS. There's simply no network benefit in trying to recreate that wheel. Not sure what the continued inference here is, however I can assure you that we offer our own accounts managed by our own policies on our own network capacity that leverages off the IS backbone to take advantage of things like locally hosted gaming servers that reside on-net, and a plethora of other routing and performance benefits...
