Any hints available yet on vuma prices/packages?
I'm applying tomorrow... :)

Just got confirmation that I'll only be able to finalise commercial stuff next week (end of). Busy doing x-connects and commercials with numerous providers, and it all ties together.

Don't sign any commitments just yet if you can avoid it...

The only thing I'm signing is the installation agreement...

Right now, of all the packages I can see, xdsl seem to be in the sweetspot with 50mb symmetrical uncapped, except they're not month-to-month.

Yes, that session would have started (on Telkom's systems) at 23:44. Without a disconnect, these sorts of sessions that update mid-way through an hourly interval prove problematic. There's simply no way for any ISP to know what usage was used in what time-period, so the only fool-proof solutions are to: force a disconnect at 00:05 or to set the schedule from 01:00 for downloads to fire off to be 100% sure. I wish there was a way for us to control the exchange radius update intervals to get more granular control over this but as it stands right now, there's none, and there's no word of proposed changes to Telkom's AAA that I'm aware of (which if I'm honest is antiquated, but I can understand their reluctance to change such a pivotal aspect of their network)...

Couldn't there maybe be a toggle option in the portal that, when ticked, forces a session disconnect/reconnect at 12:05am? That way we can toggle it on if we want to have the automatic session reset at midnight, or leave it off if we don't.

It will, but trying to force a disconnect at exactly the same time for thousands of users is simply not really feasible. Even if it worked, it wouldn't scale...

International throughput issues at the moment. Seems to be a countrywide failure affecting most ISPs.

Just started investigating what's going on - will update as soon as I know more...

Thanks DJ.

It looks to me like MTN & IS has international issues and perhaps even local peering issues.

My office's Neotel & Frogfoot connections are still 100%, and also our Vodacom data center connection.
Like the peering issue I'm seeing is like our Vodacom data center traffic is going via London and then back to IS.

Identified the peering anomaly on my end too. It's affecting the other networks you mentioned, but on other "products" which helps point to where the issues may lie.

No firm updates just yet, but the notice has just hit my desk from upstream, and I've been in contact with the guys responsible for getting this sorted, and they've already got an entire team awake and busy working on it. Will update when we can - unfortunately this isn't an issue under our control, so I'll have to act as middle-man for information (depending on what information I can and can't release publicly)...

Update: all failovers have kicked in 100%. Some links remain down but we have sufficient capacity on redundant links for it not to be a problem.

If you're having any issues specifically relating to a site or service not working, please let our support team know, or let me know in here. For now there's nothing to be concerned about, and you can continue as is... :D

Or maybe just a button in the portal to reset our session. Nothing automatic, a manual click required. (I would suggest just power-cycling the router but this doesn't always reset the session unless it's off for quite awhile, afaik?)

Speaking of portals.... :D
