Received this e-mail on Tuesday & I see no one has commented on it so far - is this legit?
Dear ,
Please take note that Standard Bank recently made changes to their business banking system that has broken the ability for business customers to auto-reconcile customer payments. This means that for weeks on end we have done nothing but try to manually reconcile thousands of payments. Because Standard Bank are unable to provide us with a time-frame for rectification of this matter, we will be suspending the acceptance of payments to our Standard Bank account effective immediately, and will require to you make payment to our FNB bank account, or to setup a credit card payment, or debit order using the following link -
http://crystalweb.co.za/existingpayments.php - note that our FNB details can be found using this link too, and we ask that you update us with the reference you will use moving forward for FNB payments. Please ensure that your reference you generate is unique, and not generic like "Crystal Web Payment" or similar.
We apologise about this inconvenience, and know that this serves as a last resort option by us. We will inform all customers once we are able to confirm that Standard Bank have resolved their technical issues, so that you can revert (should you choose) to making payment to our Standard Bank account.
Note that it can take up to 48 hours for funds to clear as an inter-bank transfer, and we will therefore be amending our auto-reminder system to only generate reminders effective 5 days after payment due date. Please note that payments should all be made by the 1st of the month, but we allow payments to be made by the 3rd to account for any weekend clearance delays, before our systems suspend accounts.
Sincerely,
Shaun Kaplan
