DJ, just got that CW email and did the survey.

I have noticed that while you have listed every service you offer as getting some benefit or price cut.
I see that no where - even on here - have you mentioned business premium uncapped.

I'm not trying to poke the bear here as I’m happy with the service of this product and the price.
I am just curious as to what the official CW response is for this product being left out?

CW got my vote for ISP of the year.

DJ, you are more than likely sick of hearing this, but what's the progress on the client portal and specifically usage tracking? Any expectation of eta that you can and are willing to share (understandable if you would rather not)?

There are no immediate plans to adjust this product for the time being. There are longer term plans but they are dependent on whether we hit our uptake targets on the new pricing or not...

No I can share. On the 12th we are pushing another big update on the portal. And then around 10 days later we should be ready to go live with something that will really wow you guys...:)

So weird thing about the price reductions......

Seems home premium uncapped remains at the same price? Now Business standard 10mbs is the same price as Home Premium.........what would be the advantage of staying on home premium if any at all?

It's all in the FAQs. We've removed the price differences mostly between business and home users, to encourage home users to sign up for home accounts and business users to sign up for business accounts. We do not like to, nor will we ever, punt business accounts to normal home users...

This has been explained already.

Uncapped: they kept the price the same in order to maintain the high/unshaped service level.

Home vs Business: Home accounts are meant for home use while Business accounts are meant for business use. The protocol priority is different. CW aren't like other ISPs that promote a "business" account for power user home use.

Different treatment of certain protocols?

Different treatment of certain protocols?

Absolutely. Business accounts for example have highest network priority (and I really mean that) on things like VOIP whereas pushing this on the controllers for a home account is largely pointless and would potentially impact on gaming services. Gaming likewise on home products takes top network priority. Same for streaming from things like Netflix...

Yeah, please. The portal is useless to me at the moment. Relying on the daily usage emails to keep track of things.

For the life of me, I can't understand what this means and how it's relevant: CW Usage.jpg

Agreed. There was an issue with one of the feeds for data into the tables for the session based updates so it's being rebuilt. The 12th will see an update there and to a few things, and thereafter the full portal launch is planned for end users and resellers shortly thereafter.

Bear in mind our portal is not just a usage and subscription management portal. It's quite a whole lot more that ties in with our FTTB, FTTH, live streaming, and soon to be released products as well...;)

Cool, excited for the new products and services.

With the pace you guys move at the ISP of the year title is gonna be hard to pry off you.

Indeed I don't get it either.

@DJ you can probably remember me sending you a PM about the same thing weeks ago on your request after I moaned(as always, you probably say) about it here.

does CW do Telkom FTTH lines?

We can, yes. We tend to prefer the client to obtain via Telkom and use us for data as the install can be tricky and we end up taking the flak for it, however if you're hellbent on not going via Telkom we'll make a plan for you. You'll have to PM me though and I'll arrange it for you, rather than talking to one of our agents, as I've instructed them to not process Telkom FTTH new installs for the time being until we get clarity on a few things from Telkom...

I did, and that portal was a temp thing to get usage stats up for everyone, but is the framework for other, far better features and options...
