It would be nice to see Telkom either charge a monthly access fee for analogue if you don't have ADSL or charge you only the ADSL access fee if you are using analogue and ADSL...Why pay twice for the same service?

Paying once won't necessarily result in a reduction in cost, at least not in any substantial manner that for some reason some other ISPs believe will happen. I don't believe that all executives who claim that it will be revolutionary are being sincere or are saying as such due to benefit to the end user...

Just so you guys know how the management team work with respect to escalations to our desk for resolution:

...snip, snip, knip, knip...

Remember MyBB has no usernames so by and large it's tough to know who you are to start the process, and most don't add a location on their profile so I can't even spot a macro-trend that way...

I wanted to contact Live Chat over the Easter weekend (Saturday evening and Sunday), but I was not sure if there was anybody available being long weekend and all. What ever the issue, by Monday morning it was back to "Pedal to the metal," so I figured whatever, complain a bit on MyBB and got over it.

So for the real question DJ: Were there support people "chained" the support desk?:D:whistle::D

Yup, support were working.

Although as policy we afford employees public holidays off, which we firmly believe is correct, reasonable, and something others should agree with, many people seem to get very irate when we give the guys public holidays so we're trialing a system that enables us to chain guys to desks on public holidays, if they so wish...:D

We're always chained to our desks, on public holidays we get extra water down in the basement and some sunlight if we're really really lucky... :p

Any aggressive shaping happening tonight? Steam way below max(460-480KB/s normally) download speed:

Speedtest seems normal:

Stuff was going really slowly last night - 18% of line speed. (Stuff being nntp). I figured it was capacity/shaping... then I was fiddling with my router and I disconnected the pppoe session for a couple of minutes... When it reconnected, full line speed on nntp...

Has anyone noticed how buggy their "Portal Sign In" page is?

Just navigating around there is just annoying imo, things are missing, drop down menus not working, etc...

It's a beta, with a big update on the way there. It's really not up to standard in its current form and the devs know this. We are busy working on the new deployment to push the new features in and to fix bugs...

Happy to discuss, to an extent. Much of what's going on behind the scenes though is of a very confidential nature, so my responses may be of a general fashion and high level. Those with some savvy may be able to infer bits and pieces...:D

But now I do have to go fetch our ginger biscuit from the airport and then heading into management meetings, but will check in and monitor the YouTube reports behind the scenes...

meh, i have no savvyNESS lol so thats me out.

is there a general issue tonight across the world wide web :D My Telkom, Afrihost accounts are also running slow tonight

That can be you. That can be you tonight if you'd like? If your Vumatel line is live and ready to go?

No :(

Fibre breaks in previous phase have delayed us. Again.

On the other hand, assia somehow made my 10mb line an 11mb line.....

Guys, seriously...if you are thinking of getting fiber, consider Crystalweb. They are amazing! Looking forward to streaming, uploading and having the best of the internet literally changing my life! Thanks guys.

But that kind of speed has to come at a pretty high price, especially if you want to have decent sized 'cap'.
Or is it the Telkom approach of "super amazing speed with 50gb" sort of deal?
