But that kind of speed has to come at a pretty high price, especially if you want to have decent sized 'cap'.
Or is it the Telkom approach of "super amazing speed with 50gb" sort of deal?

You will be very surprised.

@Phinix I was really impressed with the cost. A lot cheaper than DSL...just trust me, give them a call. You won;t be sorry. You'll be very surprised.

If there were an issue, you wouldn't see this on our network right now *ahem* https://twitter.com/WRG_AlwynVenter/status/715969356409282561 *ahem*

:D you know the situation DJ with me :) would love to try your network fully, but the pockets wont allow for it now. When you manage to call me , then we can talk about that as well. ;)

Official Crystal Web ADSL performance feedback thread Part 3...

Was a loyal Crystal Web 4MB Uncapped user, then realised I could get 6MB FNB Connect for free on eBucks Lv 5 and cancelled as a cost saving exercise.

Things were good for about 10 days then presumably I got throttled by FNB...I Still don't know as you get no notification or information whatsoever.

So I signed up for a 100Gb capped account last month on CW again thinking I would make it through most of the month and then use the FNB.

Well the last week was truly painful on FNB. Last night jamming some PS4 was impossible so I tried to use my free 1GB Afrihost which bizarrely just blackholed me into nowhere even though I have an IP.

Needless to say today I'm back on a 4MB Crystal Web Uncapped account because quite honestly it's well worth the money and I never noticed any difference between their capped and Uncapped account even though line syncs at 5MB not 4.

Couldn't be happier!

Lovely to hear. We really appreciate the feedback...

A big thanks to Ryan for answering the phone at 1 minute before close of business last night and sorting out my problem.

I never knew what the time was, but he was only too happy to help out and help me solve my router issues long past what turned out to be his tjiala time.

Thanks again Ryan.

No, we don't employ those sorts of dodgy tactics in our business, I can assure you. Ryan is most certainly not me in any sort of disguise.

Very happy to hear he was of great help, Spizz...:)

DJ what sort of time frame are you guys looking at rolling out fibre? or are you guys using a specific provider to roll out?

thanks

Everyone, and our own. We're already live on Vuma and Telkom, with other providers becoming available in the coming weeks...

He diagnosed the problem and a factory reset of the modem solved it.

Any ideas what would cause a packet loss at the router? I had Unotelly dns settings in there?

A million things, to be honest. Usually firmware related if a factory reset helps, but the manufacturers are best placed to answer that one as they're all different, and they all have different chipsets, and all made with different additions to the chipsets, and all have different firmwares built by different 3rd party vendors, all configured by default differently, and then setup by users differently, and have graphic user interfaces built by other providers as well. It's a nightmare to try to diagnose after the fact...:D

thanks buddy... think i need to move in an area that does Fibre(which is a bit extreme), as i cant see my area ever getting fibre.

Thankfully it's running smoothly now, so holding thumbs it continues :)
