Had to know it was their side, it's always their damn side. One day they'll hire someone competent, maybe.

Might not be the ideal thread but hoping I can get a quick response. I am currently trialing Crystal Web's service but the login details I received don't work - wondering what other router settings are required?

I might be wrong so take this with a pinch of salt, but I seem to remember that the account/details first have to be verified/activated by a staff member. So they might only work in the morning when someone is at CW.

Apart from the user name and password, all router settings are the same across SA ISPs.

Nothing needs to change other than username and password, but we do perform validations and therefore it can take until the later morning for it to be authorised...

I didn't know that, thank you. I received the details on Monday so it's odd that they are not verified yet, though it seems like that is the problem. Will send them an email.

If you received the details on Monday then they are certainly verified. If you can PM me the username I'll check for you quickly...

EDIT: got your PM and I've identified the issue. It was a duplicate trial account request but I've authorised it for you and sent you the info via PM...:)

That makes perfect sense, forgot I had made an account previously. Thanks for helping me out!

Hey DJ / other support person

Trying to find out how much of my daytime data I have used but the dashboard now shows peak/of-peak/midnight. Usage statistics on the other hand is empty.

Which figure should I be looking at?

Busy working on that one for you guys but use the dashboard figures for now...

We're still making a call on how long the promo pricing will stay up for, but if you've bought it at that price, that's the cost you'll get it at. If your HOA wants to arrange a price with us, they most certainly can through direct comms...;)

Do these accounts also provide access to your premium news server?

The free premium news server is tied into our DSL infrastructure so is not yet supported, but the standard news server will be available. We are exploring how best to get this integrated...

Can you elaborate on the standard vs premium news servers? I only see details of the premium news server on your website. Thanks :)

Premium is a service we pay for, and provides things like 2000+ day retention and a far wider reach of data. The standard news server is a local news server offered on the IS infrastructure that has a low retention policy. We offer both to end users on premium products at no additional charge. On fibre we need to look at how best to implement this...

Boet at that intro pricing, I am happy to pay extra for a premium news server.

Thanks for the info. That premium news server is a major drawcard...

What would be the cost if there was no alternative but to have it as an add on to an introductory price fibre account?

It doesn't sound as though this will be a quick implementation though. Probably months, if ever, right?

DJ checked with Telkom, and they indicated that there is a transmission link that needs to be added. Sorry I know I'm not using your network right now, but was just wondering if you know what this means? My streaming during the day is fine, evenings terrible, but there is no congestion and the line stats look great. My latency is around 10ms with Jitter of 1, but need to know what is this transmission link they spoke about

A transmission link is an actual cable, like a copper or fibre cable. However your symptoms and their answer are incongruent as you'd clearly see the congestion in test data when your streaming goes belly up, if it were as a result of a transmission link failure or lack of capacity on their transmission links...

Thanks. Then it's a strange one DJ. If it's not cable issue, and stats are great, then next option is get another router, and see. Going to sign up tonight with a trial account with you, and then see what happens.

PS: DJ on a seperate note, any update on pricing? :) you guys discussing pricing on your Current capped products?

Thanks
