Ad blocked mybb for their support of OpenWeb a long time ago...

Either way, reputation will still be at risk.

Fair point.

But I think MyBB (at least the "news", if you can call it that) is very much driven by ad money. It may be a personal thing, but I don't think its only that.

The portal won't be "back". There will need to be an entirely new portal built via a different provider - this is in progress though, not sure of the ETA.

Somewhere in this whole debacle DJ remarked that they had already been working on the new portal since Jan with another provider, I hope the current problems won't be used as an excuse to put a fully functioning portal on the back burner for another year ...

Maybe it is time for that. DJ.. could do it - I am sure he has the resources. Even Debbie could join. I doubt Hlaudi P. Muller will give us any reasonable explanation for the ban.

If OpenWeb was able to flaunt its dirty wares on this site by paying a dollar or two and then myBB intentionally disabling the comments section of said articles, is an indictment, to me at least, of the murky levels this place will stoop.

This is merely one of many examples of the risk entertained by this place, there are many more shady and unanswered questions left hanging. If the issue between DJ/CW and myBB is factually a personal thing only, I will be very very very surprised.

To be honest, I'd rather DJ spent time on keeping CW awesome than on providing a forum.

Let's face it. That wouldn't be hard. But he needs to pass that on to someone else, doubt he has the time for it at the moment and it wouldn't be worth his time either. I'm sure he's got the resources and if he doesn't, that won't be hard to cover ;)

Well he don't personally have to run it. It just needs good and honest folk, then time to try to rebuild what is clearly missing and lost here. He is more than brilliant with CW and should do that as much as possible regardless of the **** thats going down.
 
Oh please. DJ has and always will be a divisive character. There isn't a single bone in my body that likes the person he projects on these forums.

Good riddance. The CW sales rep, whoever it ends up being, is at least not going to venture outside of these threads.

P.S. I will continue and still do support CrystalWeb, because they offer me something I cannot get elsewhere. Business is business.

He is divisive, because he calls it like it is. When I see people trying to take him on, it's because they're full of s**t. It may be the case that he has spewed bs on occasion, but I've never seen it.
