The 'peculiarity' in my rhetoric, in essence, was to prod at the conscience of this website.

The site cannot exist on both sides of the same coin. You either choose to be the consumer champion or you choose to be a commercial entity in the true sense of the word. If you try and straddle both sides, not only will you grind your nuts, but also create a tenuous relationship that results in conflicts as evidenced of late.

We both been members for several years. I have recently noticed a tangible and growing swell of members openly displaying distrust in this site. Where myBB considers commercial gain as the priority, then seriously, how is it possible to have objective results in ISP evaluations by myBB. It would be the same as MTN having a poll on the best ISP in South Africa - naturally we would frown where axxess and afrihost come in at number one and two. What difference is there to the MTN case, when myBB flaunts the advertorials of patently rubbish ISPs or give only some ISP opportunity and explicitly excludes another ISP from having the same - that is purely biased from myBB. They may very well proffer some feeble excuse (there's a thread on it regarding advertising is delineated from editorial teams, pffft), but to turn away good advertising money, well, it will be hard to persuade me otherwise.

The BEST ISP in SA myBB poll has gone to the toilet - an ISP who now uses that as a slogan to attract clients should be reported to the ASA. We cannot have a situation where an ISP wins the best ISP and thereafter gets to use that to induce clients whilst we're in the current climate myBB finds itself (don't forget that one-question-poll saga administered to selective members only) - in my opinion, it is seems wrong and darn bordering on fraud!! and, therein rests my peculiarity.

Hi All - not sure if this is the right place, but I feel compelled to just highlight the absolutely amazing level of customer service I have received from Crystalweb, and to be specific from "Support Samurai". He has managed to sort out an issue which I have had for 2 months - which neither Telkom or Axxess were able to A. fix or B. Keep me updated about. Being in IT support myself I am absolutely blown away by the customer service, and I will spread the word to anyone willing to listen.

Seriously well done! Keep fighting the good fight, and thanks again!

Agree. I have him on my called logged (Telkom issue) and he follows up every couple of days.
 
I hope Crystal Web is going to update their offerings soon. DJ specifically mentioned how much I would like them, leading me to believe that uncapped 40Mbps might be on the cards.

Really, really sucks he's been banned. And that the staff of MyBB just don't give a f**k about ethical standards.

MyBB, what a bunch of witless shills you are. I for one am glad I AdBlock this site and now I have very little reason to come here.

The best thing that ever came out of this forum was the best ISP in South Africa, and your constant refusal to acknowledge the champions of ISPs who came together because of this very forum baffles me. No wait, it doesn't baffle me, Keoma's wallet has made you greedy.
 
Adsl is down after a long load shedding episode. Will wait and see if it comes right by itself.

No explanation necessary. Everyone knows he was banned for asking awkward questions of MyBB.

- CW not being given a Best ISP award for having too few customers
- DJ pointing out the senselessness in MyBB's methodology in calculating the best ISP
- DJ exposing how MyBB refuses to correspond with CW or allow them to advertise here

It was enough for everyone to see that MyBB is most definitely not a people's champion anymore. MyBB would sooner have a long term marketing deal with Openweb and send unsuspecting consumers to the worst ISP in SA than give the best ISP in SA a bit of exposure to help them sign up new members. Basically, MyBB's grudge with DJ has prevented them from conducting themselves professionally and treating CW as they do any ISP.

The sad thing is that it's probably one or two individuals in MyBB hurting their brand like this. I can't imagine the marketing team gives a damn or even knows about DJ, so they're probably being instructed not to deal with CW or communications from CW aren't being forwarded to them.

That said, I'm still surprised that CW doesn't have a new rep on the forum.

Perhaps just too glad that the one who we should not be named has been given the cup to drink

Of course then there is the "friends" not being friends any more and all to soon forgotten.
 
So is mybb no completely without a CW presence?
For now it looks like it. When I asked support they said that it has not been decided whether or not to have a CW rep here and that we are encouraged to use the support channels.

The ugly reality is that this is still a good platform for ISPs to communicate with the public. I certainly hope that CW finds a way of reestablishing communication with the public; whether it be here or elsewhere. Wherever it is, I'll definitely support them.

MyBB has taken a turn over the past 2 years, as evident in the quality of the articles, increase in clickbait, and there's also the question about their objectivity. The business model has changed and along with it, some of the integrity. I don't read MyBB, BusinessTech articles anymore, and haven't done so for quite some time. It's only the Forum community that remains true to the original idea/ideology.

Getting back on point with the thread topic - CW service still remains flawless. I can't remember when last I had a network/service related issue that needed resolution. Now, if only I could get FTTH in my area... :whistle:

Now I'll never see the front page because I ignore the clickbait anyway.
