It's not only 225GB. You get state of the art IPC bandwidth that prioritizes CW first before every other ISP. They call it, premium™.

Forgot to mention the state of the art encryption service they add to it. The encryption is so good, it decrypts itself back to plain text when stored in a database.

How do you know that? Were you paid to do it last time?

So no Capped packages under 100gb? We're very impressed with the streaming performance on the trial account, but 100gb is a bit too much because we only want to use it for streaming in the evenings when the uncapped isn't doing the trick properly.

So it's Saturday and still no update on the price changes or when these new capped accounts with increased data will be announced. The first mail was sent 9 days ago.
Instead, today, I get an email describing xtremeTTH, I waited with baited breath for that?
I love you CW but man, these promises and non-delivery are starting to just get under my skin.

Portal.... #NUFFSAID

EDIT: This is just my rant, other than this gripe everything with CW has been flawless. I have been with CW since their 2nd or 3rd month and while these types of slow comms are to be expected of any start up company I feel that CW has surpassed that stage.

Still no announcement iro of new capped DSL pricing so I'm cancelling today given that Monday is the 19th.

If CW can offer a tasty carrot before the end of the month instead of just dangling them I might reconsider.

What's this whole fuss about the 19th?

It's the deadline for any account changes to be made. You have to make any changes before the 19th, because that's the day billing is run with CW.

Okay in that case if your account was good enough a few days ago...surely you'll survive another month.

CW never had issues making any changes for me towards the last few days of the month so I'm sure you'll be able to switch easily.

Cancellations are a different thing of course.

The latest xtremeTTH email yesterday has old pricing?

I give up.
Huh? I also got that email and I did not see any DSL pricing in there that is relevant to my 4Mbps Premium Home Uncapped account.

From CW Management's responses here I am led to believe that it will be forwarded to us in a different announcement.

4mb @ R699 when there are no IPC charges

It's a bit like SSDs. Go all the way down to the 64GB models, and you're not paying much for the flash memory - it's everything else, like the controller, the cache memory, the PCB, the housing, and factory costs that make up the bulk of the price.

Keep in mind that it's also symmetrical. 4Mb uploads mean that it's possible to run a 720p game stream, or seed torrents faster, or serve more data to other Windows 10 clients downloading partial parts of new updates from your computer. You're still going to consume way more bandwidth than someone with a 4Mb line on DSL, but the data is also cheaper and unshaped.

I was talking about fiber pricing hence the no IPC comment

I'm aware of the symmetry. They talk about 21st century but offer 4mb, no 10mb and go straight to 20mb.

10mb @ R699 I can stomach.

Quite frankly I have reached the point where I will pay a bit more. Or wait a few extra days for announcements.
There is no point in going boom bam wallop and then your internet is useless in Western Cape.

I speak from experience!

Ditto for me. That's half the price of what I'm paying now, and 10Mb works just fine. I'd probably aim for the 20Mb option then, since I'm saving money and doubling my speed.

4Mb should honestly be a once-off payment and then free forever, IMO. Once the infrastructure's there, you need only pay for upgrades, and I'd pretty much guarantee that the user is going to upgrade to a faster package.
