I'm so envious of you lot using Crystal Web. (TM LTE user here).

Very well done Shaun, Paul and others behind the scenes. Industry pioneers, not only with levels of great support, transparency, honesty, but also now with these new innovative product enhancements.

This industry needs guys like you!!

/Also great to read a headline news article, written by myBB and in your favour.

So still no small capped packages? :(

Would really love a 50GB account. 100gb is way too much because we don't even get through the 50GB from AfriHost at the moment (which is crap compared to the CW trial we tried, btw :p).

Thanks for the price drops guys and lowering making premium home uncapped better (as it is now, is pretty amazing already) :).
And respect to mybb for publishing their announcement.

With uncapped usage from midnight to 6pm every day, can you see how much room there is for abuse with small capped accounts? Every Tom, Dick and Harry could sign up for the smallest capped account CW offers and use it to supplement their low quality cheap primary account from another ISP when uncapped usage from CW isn't in effect.

Could they not possibly exclude smaller accounts from the Midnight Express and/or 00:00-18:00 promo. though? We literally only keep a capped account around for streaming in the evenings. For everything else we use an uncapped account.

We've been using AfriHost but their streaming has gone to the crapper in the last month. We tried CW trial yesterday and it was the first time in weeks that we got to see Netflix in HD quality. We were very impressed with the performance of the account.

Just use a CW uncapped account then and you'll have no need for a small capped account for streaming.

Seeing as CW capped accounts are uncapped until 6pm every day from next month, why not ditch your uncapped account from next month and use the savings to get the smallest capped account from CW then?

On the standard business capped accounts, does the free midnight data still remain? 12am-6pm?

There are new products launching next week which I think will suit you. :)

I'm impressed with the loyalty that CW is getting.

I just have a few questions. How is the home capped accounts? Are they heavily shaped?
What's the rolling period on data?

Is the unlimited between 00:00 and 18:00 shaped or unshaped?

I moved from Mweb to Afrihost because Mweb has gone down. Afrihost is quite good. They do have a few issues here and there though. Seeing Crystal Web loyalty though is making me consider moving. Any advice?

The home capped accounts have zero shaping. There is no data rollover (yet?). The zero rated periods are just as unshaped as any other time.

I spent 6 years on Afrihost, and I'm currently using an Afrihost account for this month (lost data on my CW account). I can state with confidence that no ISP in this country has network performance and customer service like Crystal Web.

Crystal Web has a cancellation policy similar to Afrihost. Move over for a month and see how you like it. Just bail if you aren't convinced. Spoiler: you will be.

Only complaint I have is that the announcement email was terrible to read on mobile due to the wide justification of sentences.

Otherwise, nothing wrong with the content itself.

1 person out of xx number of subscribers stating that CW was hacked and their data stolen.
CW gives extra data and the person still complains!

I know who I'll believe which side got hacked/abused by the family.

Just FYI the same happens on Mweb. And I have a MikroTik router so I can see on each LAN port who uploads and not. And the bad part is that my router will upload at 2mbps on a 4mbps down and 512k up line. Mweb also tuned my the same crap, that it must be a device on my network and not their fault until I sent them a screenshot of the connections in mikrotik showing the internal network quiet as a mouse and the upload via the net going crazy. My router LOG also showed that NOBODY gained access to my router. So how do they utilise my line without getting into my router? It happens on almost every ISP and is a HUGE problem. In the end the only thing that helps is to trace the IP that magicly uploads at 2mbps on a 512k up line and block the whole IP range. If you don't have a advanced router like Mikrotik you wont be able to trace that IP and block it. So yeah it is the ISP's duty to find out how this happens and to prevent it from happening.

Well done and thank you to Shaun, and the rest of the Crystal Web team for a great 2 years so far. Never had a need for a portal, everything just simply works as it's supposed to 24/7.

The news was worth the wait! It inspires me to ask: what is the upload speed on an 8Mbps DSL account/line? I've only managed to find conflicting info: 640kbps/1Mbps.

that sounds like your firewall isn't configured correctly, you need to drop all inbound from PPPoE otherwise you'll get a ton of ICMP/Port scan traffic and attempts at trying to access your device.

is port 53 open on your mikrotik?
