Well, are you implying that CW upgrade your account since they are experiencing network issues?

No, how the heck did you get to that conclusion? CW announced that they would upgrade everyone. The service I'm paying for according to my invoice doesn't exist according to CW's website. Usage emails don't work, so I can't even try to guess what service I'm on now through those.

Also, I hope that you know that what you want to be upgraded... Are you referring to speed, cap, quality etc.?

Actually, I don't want to be upgraded at all. I want CW to go back to being like it was a month ago. However, CW has announced that I will be upgraded, they just don't say to what.

Same experience.

Seems everything is capped at 10mbs during the day. At 18:00 things improve somewhat, but still aren't at full speed.

If this is not solved by the 19th I'm going over to VoX sad to say.

Interesting you mention this. I have had the same experience. I am on a 20mb line, with 500gb xtreme capped (at least I think so, because the usage e-mails are broken, but my invoice and live chat confirms this). I schedule all my regular downloads for off-peak, and all of them are running at 10mbps. I've been watching them closely since the 1st of the month. When I finally cracked and went on live chat (in the evening, when I was home), the tests found the speeds to be higher (still not full speed, but around 15mbps). "Escalated to management" but still no feedback.

I'm in Cape Town, by the way.

And I'm afraid Crystal Web have dropped the ball the last month. It better be sorted ASAP, or the premium we're paying won't be worth it much longer.

Also, just to mention, that before the 1st of this month I have always received perfect service and internet from Crystal Web. Always my 10mb line has been running full speed and completely unshaped (even though I was on uncapped). Something broke on the 1st when I moved over to capped.

Capped. Telkom. Fibre. Profiles.

They know about the problem. They can replicate the problem. I'm just looking for an update from them but they are quiet. Support also knows nothing unfortunately.

At least they know what is wrong with your line.


I am still being throttled in certain services to half my line speed and no one knows why. Telkom says its CW and CW says it's not them so it must be IS.


I am going to change by the end of the month is this crap isn't sorted. And I will no longer recommend CW to my customers.

I'm in the same boat. AH and VoX runs 100% on my line so I know it's related to these new CW profiles and or IS. A shame really. Oh well.

I'll be back for sure once this mess is resolved though. Of course I'll only leave if this is not sorted by the 19th...

Are you on ADSL?


I just streamed speechless on abc (international) with no problems at all.
