Buying a Dell PC from Dell may seem like a good idea, but don't do it. Getting it to South Africa was fairly easy. But after one of my keyboard keys broke I realised their after sale support is crap, the worse I've experienced even... And I live in South Africa! Useless...

We only buy Dell and have about 150 laptops and a few desktops. After sales support for us is brilliant but I guess it depends on the warranty you have.

I have recently dealt with Dell support. It was the best support experience I ever had, I did the whole thing through online chat and couldn't have wished for better. The parts were delivered free of charge the next morning. Did you deal with the support or sales department? Do you have a support contract?

We have dell desktops, laptops and some servers. I never had any problems with dell support.

I have had numerous Dell Laptops.... and I always take the 2-3 year Next Business Day Service.
Have had to call them on a few occasions, but they are always there the next day with replacement parts.

Dell's after sales service is really really good, provided you took the correct option.

I bought a Dell laptop for Uni and got an extended warranty. Two years in my charger broke, I called them up and Dell shipped me a new one overnight.

Did you import it yourself or buy it through a local Dell distro? If you brought it in yourself, did you really expect after sales support at all?

We are a Dell reseller/partner and support is excellent. :)

Was it the "any" key?

I brought mine in from the states. Warranty transferred without a problem, and i've had just about everything on my laptop replaced. Keyboard, HDD, Screen, mobo, graphics card... all with next business day support (had complete care that covered the physical damage). I will NEVER buy another branded laptop. The support is nothing short of exceptional!

I have 3 year next business day support. Can anyone give me an email address for someone at Dell?

Thank you ramar... hie hie

But been there done that. Sent 3 online emails (no emails addresses available on the site), my pc is not supported by chat. Looks like I'll have to call them. Sucks that those more convenient options are not available.
