Fanks - I know this is illegal - but considering they can only provide SD content - and so many repeats - I think I'm going to cancel, and use the money for uncapped ADSL, I'll schedule what ever I want to watch to download the night before.

I didn't say that - I said I'm going to use the money for uncapped ADSL. Uncapped at Axxess is R899 IIRC.... I'd rather pay R250 more, and watch what I want, when I want, and in better quality.

he is currently paying for ADSL... NOTE!!

So he just adds the payment he would have paid to the DSTV to the uncapped ADSL... easy as pie...

Yup i suppose, i guess if i did not love sport i don't think i would have dstv either to be honest.

So maybe downloading the stuff makes more sense if your not into sport.

yep, and also remember - dstv is only gonna go UP in price, and ADSL is only gonna go DOWN in price.

soon you won't have to ADD to your ADSL bill, but either a situation of "Uncapped OR dstv".

they only did this to themselves.........

DSTV would put your account into credit as premiums are paid in advance, so for instance if you paid R470, your balance will stay on less the deactivation fee of R50. The effect of all of this would be that you will land up with a credit balance of R420.

So you miss out on the rugby (only for one month). Again, why let the corporation control you. What difference will it make to your life whether you watch the rugby or not? Think about it. The truth is: Nothing!

Untrue. It makes you happy, and that's not an insignficant thing.

I applaud the creator of this thread. It just takes a little action to get the ball rolling. I will create and e-mail copying the text from the original post, modifying it slightly and adding the proposed increases to the text to circulate across the country. On that note I would like to mention that this would not constitute SPAM as mentioned in jest above. This is a serious appeal to all consumers in South Africa to realise that the corporations need us (not the other way around) and that we need to start acting with our wallets...

It's still spam. And that's not said in jest, I'm perfectly serious. Many of the people you want to email don't even have dstv. And I'd request (can't speak for anyone else here, though) that you don't bring myBB's name into it if you're sending out tons of email. If you're sending it to friends of yours that have dstv and might be interested, well, that's a different story altogether of course it's perfectly acceptable.

You can probably download the sport too :p

Actually, there are ways of getting the rugby via kuduclub in SA :) Just use a US proxy to unlock the DRM and then you can watch the rugby :D

Edit: Oh and there are some sites you can download it from as well :)

Ya but not live.

Downloading a game when you know the score seems rather pointless to me, plus can imagine how much bandwidth download 5 days of a test matches would be lol, your uncapped line that is not really uncapped would explode.
