Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 availability ?

Also not happy. Should have bought ipad.

No networks have it so it must be Samsung. Wish they would stop making 300 ever so slightly different variations of the same thing and just keep all of their devices up to date.

I am definitely not happy with my so called premium device. From what I have read, the device is a pure joy on 4.4. The lack of support in terms of updates sucks. Not sure who is responsible, is it Vodacom or Samsung SA?

It is indeed.

It's stuttering on 4.3 and smooth as butter on 4.4 .

I have tried, it fails.

I have tried two different version now, P605XXUCNF2_P605VDICNF1_VDI and P605XXUCNF2_P605VFGCNE1_VD2.
Each time exactly as the instructions. Every time Odin Fails at the end. Tablet then refuses to start up. I then have to restore via ODIN to the 4.3 Vodacom version I downloaded from Sammobile to get it working again.
Seems my wonderful SM-P605 doesn't want to update to 4.4.

EDIT: Msg after update via ODIN:

ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SM-P605
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Official
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0x0
QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE (CSB)
AP SWREV: S2, T2, R2, A2, P2
UDC START
"Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again."

Dammit, now i wish I had mine at work. If i knew there were OTA downloads going on, i would have packed it in.

P605 I bought from a dude. Think it came from Vodacom. not sure.

There is no OTA, I checked this morning on my device. Also P605 from Vodacom. All over the world the update is available. I fail to understand why SA don't have it. It must be our operators?

Yes, then it would be the operators. I wonder what would happen if you installed HOLA, ran it to a US or German VPN, and then tried to update.

No real way of knowing, the P605 was supposed to be flagship, then Samsung decided to bring out the pro range. It's a gamble really, just purchase/don't purchase based on it's current merits and your needs.

You will be fine.

Just buy it, it's a fantastic tablet. ;)

LTE EDITION....

Warning: You might have to revert to factory default setting because how things has changed looking at rights and permissions for the external sd...

For my 10.1 2014 LTE

I used the rom from this page
http://www.howtoroot.mobi/2014/06/flash-p605xxucne2-android-442-kit-kat.html

Followed the steps from here
http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/android-4-...xy-note-10-1-2014-edition-lte-sm-p605-1450873

Tools required:
Samsung USB driver thing (comes with kies)
Oden (be careful of malware sites hosting "it" instead of it)
Rom

...My google store stopped working, tried all the fixes and in the end factory reset fixed it. Interesting enough after the reset I got another ±20meg update. Now everything is going as it should.

Thanks for the guide. I've been putting it off for some time now and my Chromecast wants KitKat:D.

Guide was so simple to understand. Only hiccup was finding the "Developer Options", here is how (might have been explained before):
(1) Settings > General > About
(2) Now tap on the "Build version" several times.
Now the "Developer Options" should magical appear under the "About" menu item.

Goodbye Jelly Bean, Hello KitKat.

Just updated. So far so good. It is definitely smoother. I should have gone this route a long time ago!
I downloaded version P605XXUCNF2 from Sammobile.com http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=34546.
Loaded in Odin and update, 6 minutes later all is done.

Well I took the plunge and also flashed the Switzerland official 4.4.2 ROM after your post :D
Even though my device was just two months old I figured that I can always flash back the ROM I had before should I ever need to take it back to the store. The ROM that I had for my P605 from MTN was P605XXUBMJA.

So far I am glad that I can finally download and test Hancom office from the Samsung Hub (Galaxy Apps). I was hoping that casting my tablet's screen to my Chromecast would work now that I have Android 4.4.2 - the option is now available however my tablet freezes when I try to cast the screen. I believe that this bug was already mentioned on XDA.

EDIT: Yes I can verify most items on the following page, while some, like faster charging and better standby time, I will verify with time:

2 days later and I can say performance is brilliant. Loving it!
Battery life is a huge improvement. YouTube wasn't always smooth, sorted.
I had occurrences where the touch screen would not work after the device went to sleep, I haven't experienced that yet too.
All in all, worth the trouble to upgrade.

KitKat experience.
Day 3:
All is smooth and running well. Except for Chromecast screen cast which freezes the tablet after 30 seconds or so.
