Do you realise how ridiculous this sounds? Did you actually write this with a straight face and a clear head? Could this concept not have been communicated to me in some way? I got cut off without warning and thinking this was the usual technical problem I even waited a day before calling. The marketing message somehow went way past me. And certainly none of your staff were aware of this bizarre reasoning either. Perhaps you should try explaining this to them too?

If yours is some of the cheapest pricing on the market how would anyone know? Perhaps there could be some pricing advertised on the web site? These disappeared at the end of last year. I doubt it is among the cheapest anyway - last year's official message from your company seemed to suggest R350 for 3Gb and now R120/Gb topup. That's downright expensive.

As it is, it was the last straw. Even at double the price, the service is a waste of money because it's not reliable. I see from subsequent messages that reliability has not improved and the quality of support hasn't either.

Where I am doesn't matter. Why do you ask?
 
ek sit eerder met gprs voordat ek screamer gebruik...their service + support + attitude = sucks? and a year later - it even is having more issues than ever...
 
Avergate speed around 5kb/s for 2 weeks, promised to send a technician to come and upgrade my CPE (WTF is that for?) this week. No one contacted me and still stucked with fuxking slow speed. I know you ISP people don't care. But just go and check my thread in Neotel sub-forum, I am switching to them once they are willing to sign me up.

The price is the problem.

For heavy bandwidth usage 3G & gprs is simply too expensive.:D

I believe the upgrade would have been to a "licenced spectrum" router with the "more stable" connection if I remember correctly?

Remember I said I'd bet a coke nothing will come off it?:D
 
I am trying to download a 1.7 Mb gmail attachment, all 3 previous 1.9 Mb downloaded first attempt tonight but now it's my 10+ attempt to download as it always stop in the middle and you can't resume download from gmail.

Screw that.
 
We are setting up 2 other routes to take the pressure off the BJ's link from all traffic north of Midrand. This will be completed in the next 2 weeks. Sorry about the service but this is our top priority now.

A GWI tech Micheal came to my place on Saturday, took down my old Zerowire CPE and gave me a new Accent CPE, problem is we can not get it to pickup Northcliff2 tower at all, but we pick up most of the others. Told him check polarization as it could be incorrect but he insisted it's not the problem, so I stuck without internet during the weekend and he promised to come back today (Monday) and get this sorted.

After he left myself and my dad went up to the roof, changed the polarization of the CPE and now it pickup Northcliff2 AP, but due to some settings (I assume) it's not connecting and keep on disconnecting.......See what he can pull out from it today when he comes.
 
Can i use my own wireless hardware (Mikrotik router 2.4ghz.) to connect to Screamer?

Yes you could, though I suspect they'll have to authorise the MAC adress first.

But you should take the thought under serious consideration.

Read this thread and then decide. I there no-one else you could rather use?:D

The issue with your connection is that you are picking up signal from the backside of one of the sectors we have on Northcliff. An install team will be adding another sector on Nothcliff tomorrow and will then visit you to get your speed and clarity sorted.

When I took on the task of responding to this thread the senior techies in our office told me it was a thankless task because the 8000 happy clients we have won't be posting anything here and there will always be one or two axe grinders and a lot of negative comments from competitive suppliers. So please forgive me if I ignore the snide commentators who obviously have an agenda that we will never be able to satisfy. We value all our clients and do what we can to get them a good experience.

Yes, Bruinbeer you can use your Mikrotik router to connect to our network if you can "see" one of our towers. Drop me a PM and we will connect you and you can test drive our network for a couple of days.

In the year I've been a client of yours, I have had to make numerous telephone calls to your call centre and just about as many e-mails which has never been answered.

The only e-mails ever received was the bill. Oh yes and the one mail saying we were all being capped and lastly the one trying to get clients to recruit other clients.

And you have the ignorance to call me an axe grinder?!

How about changing the company's name without informing clients?

Or suddenly enforcing a cap without prior consultation or even informing clients?

How about capping clients without giving them a means of monitoring their bandwidth usage?

Would you honestly say this is good service?

As for "negative comments from competitive suppliers" who might that be?:D
