Ouch! :(
Who's your line provider?
Congrats anyway. That's great they got you installed and connected same day.

Yeah i think i'm to quick on them, installation was done just before 6pm and HC sent details i requested via their support channels. That's why i'm thinking it needs some attention before worrying to much

NOTE: I should't be activated haha, i pushed this so hard to get connected. First installation in the whole area. They wanted us activated by the 23rd of September, said hell no!

Ah ok. FrogFoot is getting a lot of complaints about packet loss and low speed in the evenings, so I hope it's not that. The problem is they refuse to admit it. See how it goes with yours.
They're busy installing in my family's area now so I hope they don't damage the other line that's working so well. :notworthy:

Hahaha nice! It worked out.

Woke up to this this morning

Also, like i said earlier, i'm the first in my area. So i'm expecting some sh**ty days to come as they activate other areas and work on the fibre while deploying et c.

Will do some gaming tonight and see how the packet loss is, last night was rough! 12%-60%

With all this said, i am aware that i'm doing my testing with a Huawei B315 LTE router :p

Damn, man! Try reset both the ONT and router when it happens again, and see if that helps. Other people are saying they get full speed again.
Tried and tested with no luck.
I've noticed that my data usage on my isp page shows no data :/
I've got a good feeling that my account isn't set yet.

What area are you in?

So dove deeper into the network to see if i can pick up on something.. Seems when there's a ping spike, a packet loss follows soon after.

Clearly somethings not lekker here. Working with their tier 3 line support now to help with more detailed info.

With that said, they kept my router because something was not in place with Home Connect and Frogfoot, because it's a new area for HC. Something about the routing and some settings needed to be finalized before they can send the router and my username and password ( which i sneaky sneaky got out of them ) and just threw that into my B315 LTE router.

Today i got an email saying my router is shipped? Hopefully some of the issues are resolved with the better router? Doubt it, but hey.

Planning on signing up with Home Connect in our new rental on 20/5 package (R708pcm).

There is already a fibre connection in the house from previous tennants and it seems to be Octotel from map searches.

Mainly use it for a lot of streaming video, mainly SA, some international, plus some work file transfers (google drive, dropbox, wetransfer). Not heavy users, not gamers. We use about 200-300GB per month.

Any reason not to go for it?

Main other options:

Vox at R718
Supersonic R795
Cool Ideas R809

The Home-Connect Management Portal, does it only show data usage for capped accounts and nothing for uncapped?

What is your current line speed?

You're saying google drive, dropbox et c. So you tend to upload stuff obviously.. i'd then add the R90 per month and go 20/20mbps

Doing several speed tests today, getting constant 98-102mbps up and down. Looking good for a change :D
Ping still sucks but they told me the area is going through a routing configuration

That's awesome! How is it looking now after the work FF has been putting in?
