How do you keep yourself warm in winter?

Tank refilling obviously depends on usage and the gas heater we have goes through that tank in about 2 weeks.

About 110 hours, and it's R320 a month ago - don't used hardware stores etc, they underfill and overcharge, and don't wait so long as the price can go crazy.
Find a wholesaler to the public.

None of the hardware stores I frequent refill 9kg. They all get them in from wholesalers and they're all sealed and they're never under-filled.

Thats actually more or less my space as well. I always thought I needed a 10+ kw fireplace. But this will be for the future. I will first have to install insulation.

Look its Gauteng so it doesnt get that cold. I typically pop 5 logs in run it open bottom door for 3 min to get it going, max for 5 min then setting 3 for the hour then after that the space is pretty much well heated all cold gone then I add 1-2 logs an hour on the minimum setting the rest of the evening.

Yes I know all fireplace setting are def not the same just saying what I do for mine. On 3 in the other room its too hot after an hour will need a tshirt, so 10kw in this space would be total overkill and waaaay too hot

The biggest thing I fitted in there was the center console bezel of an Opel Astra G after I upgraded to a matt silver one.

I've kept a time log so I can have an idea how far they've got - in Jo'burg (about 4 or 5 places) the store ones last 90 to 100 hrs. compared to the wholesaler's 107 to 110, measured over many years, but no idea who does the filling at those stores.
