HTC One X

so after upating to 4.0.4 it seemed my no signal issue was gone
until this morning.no signal when i took phone out of my pkt, waited but it didnt return for about 20 minutes
then i rebooted the phone.phone booted up with no prompt for sim pin.that took another 5 mins to prompt
sending the phone in.im feb up of this issue.

Just downloaded the update - requested update and it was there - on Vodacom! Haven't noticed majoy differences but the interface does feel pretty smooth. Interested to see what they have done to the camera quality they mention in the update overview - will test and provide feedback.

I updated on Friday. Have also noticed slight improvements in the smoothness of the UI and the mapping of the menu button to the recent apps button makes the screen feel a bit bigger and less cluttered. To enable it go to Settings - Display, gestures and buttons - recent apps button.

i updated. no difference. my phone now has the other one x issue. the overheating issue. really not impressed with mtn corporate. have reported this 3 weeks ago, and a few times and they havent bothered to respond.

sorry, as much as i like the one x, i cannot handle this frustration. i guess s3, here i come.

I had the same issue. Take it to regenersis, they replaced the sim tray and/or sim reader. Seems to have fixed the issue.

PS: only saw your Q to me now, I dont have his number. Speak to Zac or Jacques if you call the Midrand branch, forget names easily :P

Since updating my 3G issue has become worse - when switching from wireless to 3g or when moving through different 3g coverage areas it drops 3g signal so no data. Can still phone and receive calls. Still trying to find out why this is as it should not be an aerial issue or sim issue.... Hope to be able to sort out as the rest is perfect!

My 3g signal issue has gotten worse as well :(

Happening far too often now

Yup happening all the time and I've tried many different settings as well as some apps to fix but no luck. If I knew the cause could do some proper troubleshooting but I have no idea. Will have to try the regenisis route because I foresee frustration going thru Vodacom support. Anyone else had this and fixed it? ? ?

Hi Guys, I am trying out some different setting - can you try this an let me know if it helps - it has been working for me this morning so far but will keep testing:

Punch in *#*#4636#*#*
Use drop down to change network type to 'WCDMA preferred'
Hit 'update'
See if it helps
If not, select another setting like 'GSM Auto' and test

Let me know if these setting make any difference for you.

Good luck!

Huh, why would I punch in a code and choose WCDMA if it's not supported in SA?

Update: so after changing the network settings as above I have had no 3G problems for 2 days. Very happy to have a working phone again :) :)

So yeah, try not to drop your phone guys :(

so i got myself another htc one x , just because i love this phone so much (waiting for the other one to return from repairs) ... touch wood, no issues at all with wifi, 3g etc ... got the sh26 serial number ...

i did buy myself a "bestskins" screen protector ... worked out to under R100 to my place all costs in ... this skin fits the phone perfectly ... no gaps on the screen, covers the entire screen ... its a wet application skin ... not rubbery like the zag, slight orange peel ... but no way near as bad as the zag ... very slight ... looks like nothing is on the phobe
