Does anyone have issues switching the router on & off?
Most of the time i have to hold the power button for 10+ secs for it to do anything, other times it does nothing after 20 secs & i have to re-push it for 10 more seconds, its quite frustrating

Yes, you must press it hard and hold for a second.

I just keep mine on all the time. :)

ah well then you not a reliable source cos you've only ever pushed the button a couple times ;)
My button just seems inconsistent, i can live with it but i just dont want the button to give in completely

I only use it outside normal work hours so dont want to risk at potential hacks

I also find that you have to press it quite firmly and hold it for a while before it powers up.
 
Thanks guys found my sweet spot and i didn't notice the switch. Works like a charm.

yes you can, I also have the R 315 Vodacom Top Up deal and all I do is buy a prepaid voucher to enable me to convert it to a 2 gig cap. Without loading additional you are able to buy the 1 gig. I use the Vodacom4me websire and do it on there. Hope it helps.
 
My B970 is still running like a champ and it seems my PS3 communicates better with my B970 after the latest PS3 system update. (2.76)

I connected my PS3 (2.76) to my B970 router over wi-fi and it was taking ages to download PSN games. Maybe I should try with a network cable instead? Or it could be my Vodacom connection.

Vodacom HSDPA has been really unstable lately. Frequent disconnects, DNS errors.....definitely not your PS3 or B970.

Had exactly the same problem....but had the older PS3 firmware.

Now the downloads are super fast! Love it.

My PS3 is connected to my B970, but only get 30% signal. My B970 is upstairs and my PS3 is downstairs around 12 or 15 meters away.

Does anyone know how improve the WiFi signal with antenna's?

Go look at the Linksys Wireless-G Range Expander WRE54G.

I can't get this working either. The best I could get is that I must look under the dial-up settings. But it only gives me a drop down of profiles, I can't find a place to add a new profile.


Any ideas

I've noticed that the wifi can be quite slow. I haven't tried a cable myself yet, but I suspect for me it's the distance the wifi has to communicate over. Apparently the new PS3 firmware is much better too.

I'm not sure however that I want a faster connection for my PS3, those games can suck my bandwidth quite quickly.

I'm sure I saw a place where you can create a new profile. I'll check tonight again.
