Then on demand or manual connection is probably your best bet. The nice thing with the B970 is you can connect/disconnect from the main page without logging in.

any vodacom or mtn store should have it. You can get it on a top up 275 from vodacom then just convert the airtime to data. works out cheaper.
 
Yeah thank Mork , I should have checked that on the Vodacom site , but how does the R275 convert to data. iow, how many megs do you get for R275

I went to my local Vodashop today and they're ordering me a B970. :)

Still deciding which package to take with it, or if I should just buy it cash.

Pleasure :)

If you can't afford the upfront pain, then top-up is probably your best bet. There are top-up data contracts now if I am not mistaken? When the B970 first became available it was free on some of the bigger top-up packages while there was a sizeable payin on a 1G data package :confused:
 
B970 Router Setup Help

I manage to setup the router and it is working fine, restart the router and test again and it works fine still with all the settings.

If the router is switched off for sometime from the power and switched on, all the settings are gone.:( The gateway name is reset to 'gayeway', password is reset to admin, the SSID in now set to broadcast and the encryption is gone.:(

Am I doing something wrong? As I need to redo everything when i switch on or if someone switches it on, they it could be picked up by anyone to use.

Strange as the settings are saved in NVRAM (actually flash). Set up the router again via the web interface initial setup, then once done telnet into the router, log in as admin password admin and type nvram commit.

Swithc off for a while, switch on and see if it has lost it's settings, if it has take it back to where you purchased it.
 
Strange indeed, I have not see this myself and you are the first person to mention it.
 
Probably faulty flash cell, if I recall correctly there is a checksum on the nvram contents and the system resets to default values if the checksum is incorrect.

What OS is the machine youre doing the settings from?
What antivirus are you using?
What browser are you using when putting in your settings?

Humor me guys, I have seen this before with WhiteRussian as well.

New HP latop delivered last week...

Windows Vista.
No antivirus installed yet.
Internet Explorer (Think version 7)
 
I would suggest as a quick attempt,

Try Firefox/Opera.
Disable your Windows Firewall.

If this fails then I would recommend rather taking it to a technician or Voda for checkup.
