*IMPORTANT* Cell C data connection problem update

Cell C has conducted a high-level investigation of the network, following complaints by customers who were unable to connect to the Internet despite strong signal. Cell C together with its vendor Huawei uncovered an underlying problem on our IT platform. Cell C and Huawei are working around the clock to find a solution to the problem.

Cell C will communicate details as soon as we have more information. We apologise for the inconvenience.

Eish this is not good news.

I must say that Cell C internet is much better for me lately, after I used that fix where I disable HSPA+ things have been much better. Except for Youtube but even that worked yesterday.

However there's still a lot of people posting about zero data throughput and it's worrying. Hopefully it is something that Cell C can fix.

Basically it forces the phone onto WCDMA2100 - which is quite impractical, as the coverage on that band is a lot narrower than across the other bands - and even then, I get no throughput in sandton.

Undying problem. The way things are going, we should get a fix sometime next year or maybe the year after.

With the amount of marketing and advertising Cell C are doing their strategy is simple: get as many people to sign up to our network with our low tariff's and large data bundle's and then that gives us 20 months to fix this problem right before these same people need to upgrade \ port.....

You are wrong... both. The same problems were reported during initial Whoosh campain. never been fixed. So guys, don't count on fixing your problems. If you have problems go elsewere and stop moaning. It will be for the benefit of all of us.

Wind your neck in.... my Whoosh worked fine for 2 years. The throughput issues started for me in March this year. That includes all 3 lines \ data sims

Its clearly not your problem, but once again u cant wait to give your " Invaluable Input "
U seem to always have serious issues with all of affected. Aint u the insensitive one.

Maybe its time u stop your moaning & go elsewhere. It will be for the benefit of all of us affected. U seem to have more suggestions & solutions than Cell C.

Fact that you have never experienced problems doesn't imply that problem is new. Read old posts (including mine), you will see. I sold my package because of these problems were not resolved and moved to 8ta. Still use Cell C at times and will certainly move back when current 8ta special ends.

Also experiencing the data issue...
Phone showing 3G or HSDPA, yet cannot get any webpage to load or other internet access.
Usually disabling data and then re-enabling fixes the issue.

Not a dealbreaker (yet) just very annoying - but they need to get it sorted.
