If there is one that runs on the phone it will be okay, but having to install software on all the PCs is just not on for me. Anyway, will first have to see how the next iPhone compares to the SGS2 and the Sensasion. But as I said, the specs doesn't really bother me all that much, all the phones currently are much faster than I need them to be.

My problem was that iPhone filesystem or applications is like virtual pc's and they dont share a file system. So if you copy something onto the device, consuming it is a bit of a pain, like getting a Excel spread sheet to (Documents on the go) was a bit of a pain. Also browsing Windows shares and copy a mp3 into your music library was not going to happen.

I do understand why Apple went that route as the Android one does promote piracy in a way as I can go to my friends and just copy a mp3 from their PC into my playlist and later if I want to make a copy back onto my PC. Also the security of separate filesystems does have a added bonus as you know one app can not see anything from another, unlike the recent Android issue where you could create a app that reads info from Skype's database.

And yes I still love my Android

Dropbox, and soon iCloud solve a lot of these problems. The flash disk app works fine but needs iTunes running on each PC you wanna copy files to.

I've found myself using goodreader to manage a lot of file types including video. Simple enough drag and drop via wifi.

Like I said if there is a will there will be a way. As for the Dropbox, solution it is another work around to something we been doing with mobile phones back in 2000 already. My old Windows Mobile phone could be used as a USB dongle some time back. Again I can see why Apple went the route they did, I just dont like it much, and dont want to store MB's of data in the cloud and forced to download it when I want to use it on my phone. If SA had uncapped 3G then yes I would not have a issue with going with iCloud.

Hmm, you still need iTunes to copy the data to the phone if I read that right. I own about 10 cds and I don't even listen to them, so I don't need to put anything in my library, but I still don't think that those apps are what I need. I also don't have wifi at work so the other options won't work for me.

I know there is work arounds like the one you mention even if it uses that crap platform that is called iTunes but it was a little to late for me. I now have over R2000 of software on my Android platform so switching back will be a costly affair.

You've hit the nail right on the head there. With a phone/tablet combination, once you get locked into a specific platform's ecosystem it will be all but impossible to switch to another OS. The battle is really being fought around app stores - and one of the reasons why I'm skeptical of the Playbook for instance. It doesn't have the same ability to lock users in like iOS/Android do. If you have a Playbook and get an Android phone it is a matter of time before you'll want an Android tablet. Unless of course RIM gets the Android compatibility right (maybe).
