iOS 5 details

Constructive debate is always good. But unfortunately very few are honest enough to tell of all the problems they are experiencing (like RaptorSA did). All we here is the good stuff that one solution supposedly does better than another. Keep in mind that most readers of our comments don't participate in these discussions but do take note of all the claims ... and then they go out and buy accordingly ... and often make mistakes.

Fact: 9 out of 10 sales people (at least at the Vodashops I've visited) are complete morons with technical knowledge on par with my grandma.

LOL! I know a few that actually reads (and sometimes participate) here ... LOL! They are obviously the 1 out of 10 that knows their stuff.

Off topic but its sooo true,

I actually laughed when I bought my DHD. The sales person asked me about the phone, so I told him about Android and the reason I am getting the new one. Just to hear him try and sell the phone after me to someone using mixed up facts that I just told him.

I find that they normally just repeat what customers told them, and most of the time its not everything as you cant exactly "teach" someone in the 5 minutes it takes you till out a form.

I'm sure incentives to push certain products/offers at certain times also plays a role.

I'm sure when a product is overstocked (and near replacement) the salespeople are motivated to get more of those items out of the door.

All in all, this has been quite a constructive Apple thread for MyBB, 'tho I know by posting now I'm getting caught up in the fanboy/fandroid thingie... again... but... system32, I really liked your "For a company that called 2011 the "year of the copycats" and who is suing others over "copying", Apple sure has a lot of egg on their face" quote. It made me think about the 200 million IOS devices out there, it made me think about Apple being more valuable than MS and Intel combined... but mainly it made me think: Mmm-mmmm, That must be some tasty egg... Maybe it's Eggs Benedict... I love Eggs Benedict.

Again, apologies for the us vs. them comment, but my name is Greg and I approve this message.

The people that I speak to are usually clued up, but they still have their own bias. Like when I went to find out if they had the iPhone 4 and the SGS, they asked me if I wouldn't rather wait for the Blackberry torch to come out. It would have came out in that week if I remember correctly, but they were clued up enough to know the differences between all the phones. To them the torch was the ultimate phone, because it was the ultimate blackberry - And I would have taken it if it just had hd video recording. I could have lived with the slower processor, more limited market etc. But they were just to far behind on too many things.

haha!! Nuff said. :D
Didn't you know that spending hours trying to figure out how to get your Android phone to ignore your album art when viewing the photo manager makes you more technologically superior in every way... and thus, subsequently right... !? </TrollPostForTheDAy>

What must one do to get hold of iOS 5 Beta ... and be allowed to install/use/test it? I just cannot wait for October ... I'll rather live with some bugs.

How will a beta version of such a large OS upgrade affect my existing iPad apps? (I guess that is the purpose of beta testing :) )

Registration as a developer is free, cool. Getting the more useful stuff requires a payment of $99/year to become a member of the Developer Program.

It's not like it's the first time that Apple has taken an idea from a third party and incorporated it into the OS.
Sherlock, Coverflow, Instapaper, Safari Reader etc. Once in a while, they even pay for the idea/app/company.
