That shouldn't be a surprise, you go on a ride that pretty much emulates a car accident what would you expect to happen?

I was actually thinking why people have their phones on them on the rollercoasterthe watch is understandable though.
Interesting predicament this, they may need to put signs up on these rides that you need to take ALL accessories off including smartwatches.
Yeah. Many people have battery issues and many others don't. What's isn't clear is why some people have the issue and others don't. I watch Brandon regularly and he himself hasn't been having issues before like other people, but he is beta testing 16.1 and started having the issue now. The battery issues seems very random so it's not worth dismissing as nothing. Apple will have a fix for it though, surely the problem effects enough people for them to look into it.That is so wild, ‘Home & Lockscreen’ taking up battery quite a bit on his phone.
My one question is does everyone who has battery drain in iOS 16 have Background App Refresh switched to On?
I did a top up on my 13 PM (iOS 16.0.2) before going out for lunch today, left the house at 14:00, it’s now 17:49, I’ve been using Instagram, WhatsApp, Twitter, YouTube on and off on 5G along with a few other apps, I am still on 96% as I comeback home, seems like normal battery usage to me. I keep Background App Refresh off as I have not seen it benefit my usage at all, but I once caught the Reddit app misbehaving when I left this option on.

@Bryn how do I backup the Authenticator codes? apart from syncing them with another device, any step by step guide I could use?My impression was that it was an offer valid in the moment only. I assume if I returned even later the same day that the inspection process would be done again from scratch. After all, the device could pick up damage in between.
To prepare for a trade-in is no different than preparing for a new phone.
- Backup your Google Authenticator codes
- Backup WhatsApp
- Ensure all files and images are in the cloud
- Screenshot your home screens if you aren't going to restore the entire phone
- Don't factory reset until you've accepted the trade-in offer
- Oh, and make sure you have the phone's original box and all its contents.
Absolutely! I am actually very curious to figure out what is causing the drain for some people. It’s super annoying when it happens, I remember when the Reddit app destroyed my battery life one day, phone lost about 20-30% of charge overnight, on a night where I was not even sleeping at my own place, woke up to the phone on 7% which was strange, ever since then I watch the usage closely to try identify any app that may be misbehaving.Yeah. Just an update on this, went to bed just after midnight, phone must have been at around 68%, woke up to it on 64%, that’s a little more usage than I expected, if I remember correctly on previous iOS versions I would lose maybe 2% overnight, that being said the usage is not bad the graph is not as steep as I have seen some others have.I’m at 81% now. I’m quite happy. Going to only charge it when it hits 20%, that will probably only be tomorrow sometime.
Having seen some of the videos, I saw huge drops form 100% down, I’m definitely not experiencing that.
This is what it looks like now…let’s see how it goes overnight, I want to see if there is some major drain when not in usage at all.

Incredibly annoying. I remember on Android it would be Google Play Services running amok and there was literally nothing you could do about it sometimes, just let it do it’s thing for the few days or weeks and then suddenly you are back to great battery life one day.Whatever that is running in the background is showing us flames. It sure is a background process within the OS itself that is why we cannot see it on screentime.

Going into the office today and the WiFi there can be iffy so will see how it goes. I think I should hit 20% in the afternoon sometime.

That is absolutely insane! My phone still drains ±20% over night, but I think it's wifi/modem related. Only way I can get your kind of minimum drain is with Airplane mode on.

The transfer to a new device merely involves scanning the provided QR code. So when you have the QR code, screenshot it and scan it when the receiving device is available.@Bryn how do I backup the Authenticator codes? apart from syncing them with another device, any step by step guide I could use?

How many other accessories have four separate charging methods (I forgot it's also MagSafe)?
The weird is in a good way.
iStore don’t have stock either. I’m still technically on the waiting list with iStore, two weeks on lol. It makes me wonder whether some people will give up and get the 14 Plus instead of the Pro Max. Obviously a much worse phone, but at least it’s something.I've cancelled the Vodacom order. They don't have stock for bugger all. I took the Pro Max 128GB from MTN at R1080. That's R330 more per month. MTN do have stock.
Obviously a much worse phone
