I checked for stock online and it showed that IC Canal Walk had stock.
Walk in at 09h00 and the sales dude says 'Sorry, no stock'
I'm like 'What? System said you had stock last night' - goes to check and the other guy says 'oh ja, stock came in yesterday, we haven't packed it out yet!'
Five minutes later all done - first pair sold at that store.

Good thinking. I had already checked online before phoning them and neither store had green checkmarks, nor did they have stock in the back room when the sales assistant checked for me over the phone. Even George and Knysna have stock, wtf is wrong with PE.

So today was the day I could finally upgrade my contract with Vodacom. Arrived early at iStore Clearwater … first person in … told they’re all sold out of iPhone 14 Pro Maxes AND Pros. They put me on a waiting list.
Hah! Incredible Connection and Vodacom Clearwater both have no devices either. Got in my car and hit the highway … Vodacom Online confirmed they had nothing. Vodacom Mall of Africa and Menlyn also nothing. Then I called Vodacom Sandton City … and they had ONE Pro Max 14 256GB in purple. Absolutely perfect. Raced over there, and the rest is history.
I managed to add a Watch Series 8 to my contract too, so I’m making a big commitment to the Apple ecosystem (up to now I’ve only had an iPad). Wish me luck with all this setup!

Yesssss guys, I’m relieved. My big issue now is I couldn’t trade in my S20+ at iStore as part of my upgrade, so now I have to sell it privately. Don’t suppose anyone has tips on that?

Hell I’d be happy with less. IStore was going to offer me up to R6000. All I want with it is AirPods Pro 2, then I’ll have scratched all my itches lol.

So turns out Vodacom’s intuitive eSim process isn’t that intuitive.
Hit this error on my Watch 8, phoned call centre and they said they’re getting a lot of exactly these complaints at the moment and their ability to provision eSims on their side has been removed … so I have to go into a store. Sigh.

I'm using my 1st gen case for my 2nd gen since the iStore had no 2nd gen cases. Works fine, charges fine, fits like a glove
