iPhone 5 fails to be groundbreaking

OK, looking at the benchmark posts above it seems that A6/iOS6 is the same speed as S3/ics.

But Jelly Bean is said to be much faster than ics - what then ?

Then we wait for real world benchmarks. Synthetics like that above aren't so much dependent on OS constraints. Sunspider, games, app loading/switching, etc is where the money is.

Basically, the iPhone 5 is not as fast as Apple made out - it is the same as other new phones !

It's faster than Apple made out.

That is no answer, by then Android will be on 4.2.

Relax guy... you taking a phone way to seriously.

Looking at the benchmarks it's just an average phone with a smaller screen and lower resolution than other new phones.

In other words, nothing special.

It's perfectly fine if you think that.

I was watching an awesome documentary last night: Jiro Dreams of Sushi. It's all about this master sushi chef who dedicated his entire life to an obsessive degree to perfecting the art of sushi making, so now at 85 he's probably the greatest living sushi maker in the world.

So he produces the most beautiful, elegant sushi that the world has ever seen - charges a fair buck for it too (>$300 a plate). It's a symphonically orchestrated meal course. Then there's this scene where this guy walks in from the street and wants to know how much it costs. Gets told it's 30,000Yen. Obviously he's shocked. Then asks if they serve appetizers or drinks. Gets told no, just sushi. Walks out in disgust. Far as he's concerned, sushi is sushi - one plate of raw fish versus another is about the same.

It will sell millions all the Blackberry users will be jumping ship to the iphone.

That is actually very possible - I know a few that could just do that.

But they will still long for BBM.

The only way for Blackberry to still make some cash may be to sell a BBM App for USD30.
