In the past when I was still a client I have returned items after 2 years and got it completely replaced. So maybe that is just for items that doesn't have 3 year manufacturer warranty but only 1 year manufacturer warranty and then 2 years "Evetech" "labour" warranty?
In the past (many years ago though) they sold me a PSU that had a 5 year warranty and gave me a 1 yr warranty.
My PSU stopped working after 14 months in and I was told that I need to send my PSU to America to have it repaired at my cost as they can't replace it here after the 1 year warranty lapses. IT was a Corsiar 860W PSU. Worked out that it was better just to buy a new one than to send it off to be looked at in America. In the past (many years ago though) they sold me a PSU that had a 5 year warranty and gave me a 1 yr warranty.
I also had a CPU with 5-10 years warranty and returned it after 3 years, no issues. BUT that was the past.In the past (many years ago though) they sold me a PSU that had a 5 year warranty and gave me a 1 yr warranty.
If a re-seller sells a product they also inherit manufacturers stated warranty period. Unless you are saying everything Evetech sells is gray? In that case there is recourse for that as well.

Have no love for evetech at all after that incident.Wtf.

You get a 7 year Corsair warranty why sell something you cannot honour the warranty in the first place or maybe for only 1 year. Then it was imported, otherwise Corsair would have recommended to sent the product to their local distribution partner (or network) where it was acquired.
Any supplier has to by law provide you with a 6 months implied warranty in accordance with the CPA and there are other ECT acts which also applies when a product is purchased ‘electronically’.
Evetech gave you a 1-year inhouse warranty, they extended the implied warranty with a 6-month warranty. They are allowed to do so, it isn’t a bad business practice or unethical, but they can add value by handling the remaining warranty. It is good practice, however, to indicate this in the sales agreement (or to advertise it as such).

Who is the warranty provider, Evetech or Corsair?
If I buy from a company, I expect them to facilitate the warranty. I have had this debate with a number of suppliers.
Warranty
8.1 All goods supplied by the Supplier are warranted free from defects for Return to Base 1 Year from the date of invoice. This warranty does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
Where goods are provided with a warranty period greater than 12 months, the first 12 months of the warranty covers all parts and labour costs, where as any subsequent period of the warranty cover only relates to labour costs only. e.g. If a product is sold with a 3 year warranty, the first 12 months covers parts and labour, and the next 24 months covers labour costs only.
As stated above we provide Return to base warranty which means, Customers are liable for the shipping charges for returning of faulty goods. Shipping charges will not be refunded.
You expect them to honour the extended warranty which is insurance. By law, the supplier only has to provide you with an implied warranty. The reseller doesn't inherit any insurance provided by the provider.
These are the terms set out by Corsair,
https://www.corsair.com/ww/en/warranty
when the product is distributed by an authorised Corsair partner in your region it will be sent to them. This means that the product must have been acquired through the distribution partner.
Evetech's own terms state,
https://www.evetech.co.za/Company/Terms-and-Conditions.aspx
they provide you with an actual 6 months Return to Base 1 Year in-house extended warranty. Over and above the 12 months the shipping charges will be on the buyer, but they will handle the labour. All which are well within their rights.
PSU I recently purchased from them clearly states 10 year LOCAL warranty so I guess I'm covered. However did not receive power cable which I mentioned before. I suspect country they purchase these from AC cords not compatible here.

Not sure why you are defending these charlatans?
Anyway, it's just another reason not to buy from them. Who TF wants to buy something from them with a one year warranty, when a reputable seller like Wootware would pass on the 5 year warranty.
Replacements:
All products sold by Wootware are covered by the manufacturer's original warranty, which is at least 1 year from the date of order, unless otherwise stated. Some products have longer manufacturer warranties, and we honour these warranties as well.
Should you have a faulty item, contact us and we'll assist you by providing you with the details for the return process. In this case, the customer will be responsible for arranging delivery of the faulty item back to Wootware, but Wootware will cover the return shipping costs back to the customer.

I am stating the law. You need to be aware when you enter a purchase agreement.
Nobody inherits any warranty. I am quite sure that Wootware would abide by Corsair’s warranty. To quote Wootware’s policy,
https://www.wootware.co.za/terms/#returns
Which is pretty much the same as Evetech’s, Evetech also honours the warranty, but they indicate within their terms that over and beyond 12 months the shipping charges will be on the buyer.
See how Wootware is stating the 'returns' on shipping,
vs
https://www.evetech.co.za/Company/Terms-and-Conditions.aspx
so Wootware adds more value by covering the return shipping costs back to the customer.
Ok lets for argument say that it was Corsair that had the warranty shouldn't it be their responsibility to send it to America on my behalf? If not then what is the point buying it from them in the first place if it would be cheaper to buy a new one than send it to be repaired?
