Thought i would try something different! :D Kubuntu has a very nice interface, struggled a bit with my mail settings, lOL! And set my AGP to minimum settings. Ha.. Ha.. And a new looking internet tool! :) KDE..

So... Wat se julle?

How are you struggling exactly? Have you followed the standard guides to install nvidia drivers? Which driver are you trying to install?

Road Runner, search the Ubuntu wiki for "nvidia drivers" and there should be a proper step-by-step on installing the drivers. Nvidia is very well supported in Linux.

haha, :P the old KDE vs Gnome vs XFCE cs Openbox/Fluxbox/Blackbox/Bentobox;) debate.

You are all a bunch of sissies, true linux users NEVER use any form of GUI.
CLi all the way!!!

Oh and KDE is > CLi > FLuxbox > E17 > Openbox > E16 > TWM > Windows > gnome

You made a mistake!

I fixed it!

You KDE haters will someday see the light!

There will come a day when KDE reigns supreme! (Darth Vadar voice-over)

AArgh! Anyone got a link to the drivers? Or a sop for dummies. i have tried: nvidia drivers
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/uptodate-ati-nvidia-driver .. but all i find there is bla bla.. Where is the driver?

Code:
$ apt-cache search nvidia-glx
nvidia-glx - NVIDIA binary XFree86 4.x/X.Org driver
nvidia-glx-dev - NVIDIA binary XFree86 4.x/X.Org driver development files
nvidia-glx-new - NVIDIA binary XFree86 4.x/X.Org 'new' driver
nvidia-glx-new-dev - NVIDIA binary XFree86 4.x/X.Org 'new' driver development files
nvidia-new-kernel-source - NVIDIA binary 'new' kernel module source
nvidia-glx-legacy - NVIDIA binary XFree86 4.x/X.Org 'legacy' driver
nvidia-glx-legacy-dev - NVIDIA binary XFree86 4.x/X.Org 'legacy' driver development files
nvidia-kernel-source - NVIDIA binary kernel module source
nvidia-legacy-kernel-source - NVIDIA binary 'legacy' kernel module source

And how do i install it? LOL! :p
Code:
$ sudo aptitude install <package_name>

Ok i used "Kmenu / system / adept" GUI! ;) Ha.. Ha.. Running on full power after update tool did its thing, so lets see what happens.

I like both Gnome and KDE..
Nice to have both installed and depending on the mood I'm in... load it.

I'm pretty new to Linux, installed Ubuntu 8.04 about a month back. Got everything up and running fine. Tried Kubuntu 8.04 a couple days ago and I definitely found it a lot more difficult.
