Hwzit guys, I have recently bought a new laptop harddrive, which is 80gigs and only later finding out that my laptop does not support 80gigs even tried partioning it..

neways I can't give it back so I would like to use it as an external hdd.. where can I purchase an enclosure and about how much will it cost?

Thanks in advance

Anything from R150 - R350, and most decent hardware shops should stock it.

I like the Vantec Muse, dunno if they're still available.

re 'laptop doesnt support 80 gig drive' - are you sure? Wouldn't it just be a setting in bios? Or do you have something that can't power a larger drive? These days the 350 gig and upwards sized HD's are kinda normal for laptops...

yip I'm sure, its an old P4 laptop, I did some research and it can support up to 60gigs only..

Compaq Evo N1050v, specs 1.8GHz intel, 512Ram, 30gig hdd, dvd-rom cd-writer, has a stiffy drive as well :)
