You said you have tinitis? I'm guessing a slight lack of hearing?

A constant ringing sound in my ears from spending to much time in loud clubs, mainly my mates club, 96 Degrees, which had a 20KW sound system 10 meters above the floor.

Messed my ears up real good I tells ya.

Well took the TV back to Cats, there were very helpful, swapped it out no questions asked.

Well glad to report this set doesn't buzz nearly as bad. Obviously there is still a slight buzz, but I knew that was going to be the case.

Much better. So far can't hear it with volume on normal.

Glad to hear :)

Nothing to do with bargains, but I will sneak this one in anyway. . . .

Anyone done a firmware upgrade on their samsung set? Is it worth it?

Did mine last week, don't know what what changed. Hopefully I can find a forum/e-mail where I can contact the people who do the software for the media player as it seriously needs a screen saver if you gonna decide to play some music, you cant have a constant image/background when playing music it will definitely lead to screen burn

Edit: One change I did notice is that screen which pops up when there is device detected from the usb, no longer pops up if you left the a device in the usb when you turned off the TV and then later turn the TV on.

Hi Guys,
Finally made my choice between the Hisense 40 LED and the Sony 40ex400 LCD.....I chose the PS50C430 Samaung plasma....lol
Got it on Friday and am over the moon with the picture quality and the size.
Just wanted to know what settings I should use eg. cantrast, brightness etc.
The quality of FiFA10 and Midnight club is excellent, although I do get a little image retention of my NOS Bar in Midnight Club, it does go away after about 5 mins of watching normal TV. Is this normal ?
All in all, I am absolutely thrilled with this screen so far.
The size looked average on the display stand in Game, but once I set it up at home....its GOLIATH

Thanks to every1 for their help and advise esp Postmanpot.

Yeah it's huge hey? I'm sure some of the PS50C430 owners can chime in with settings. Do remember though that it is advised that for the first ±100 hours of use you run the plasma at lower contrast and brightness settings (50%-ish). This helps the plasma through the "break-in phase". After the break-in phase your chances of retention and burn-in are less. If you're gaming for 2 hours at a time, or anything with with perma static images, go into picture options, Burn protection, and run the "sweeper"/screensaver for a few moments. Just to be safe. Alternatively just change channels. Also enable pixel shift.

Shoo ... maybe get a notepad to remember how to maintain your plasma? ;)
