Yeah fully aware that you run wantitall :)...

When I say problem is getting it into the country, I was thinking the shipping costs which will be astronomical :(...

LED TV only weighs about 25kg, so not that expensive to ship!

Ok... assuming the tv works as it should...

What do you reckon, (give or take)... your final cost would be in dollars (including your markup)

Not sure yet.

I want to see if it works first before I go through this process. Don't want a 55" or 60" LED which I can only use PS3/XBOX on.....

I just want to know if anybody here has imported and TV and gotten it to work with DSTV/PVR ;)

Ap0c - may I take the opportunity to tell you how ridiculously high some of your prices are on Wantitall :p :D

Awesome. We are adjusting pricing. Its not easy to price 10M+ products.

What line of work you in?

lol I understand, just taking the piss. :p

I am a consultant in the software industry.

Definitely the plasma. Nice price!

Now take it to Game... :D

That's exactly what I did. Also had a R3500 voucher from them ( upgraded a cellphone contract) - so ended up paying in less than 2k. What a bargain!

We've got a record!

Previous lowest price (after vouchers) was R2,500 - R3,000 IIRC.

:D

OK, this getting ridiculous now ... Cats Digital LA46C750 for R14999

I have one and really cannot fault it, SD and sport looks absolutely perfect on it. 200Hz and 3D! R14999 is getting close to what the Yanks are paying for this thing, ie. close to a USD ZAR conversion. This is Samsung's flagship LCD and in most reviews I've seen they claim better picture quality than on Samsung's more expensive 3D LED backlit panels.

:wtf: thats is an insane price!!

EDIT: I mean in a good way ofcourse! ;)

On recommendation of TYR, I also bought the Sam LA46 750. Altho I dont have much experience to compare to, I am stoked by the set. Also all the interconnectivity. Last weekend we connected up a 500Gb portable hard drive with USB and watched all the movies on the drive. What a pleasure! Just before Xmas, Cats told me they had about 40 of the sets in stock. Funny tho, its in the printed SA catalog, but only on the Australian website. Its made in SA tho ???

TYR has almost convinced me to get one too ;)

Damn! That is a very good price!! Still would be way out my budget though if were still shopping around for an TV :|

My last screen was R22,000.00 - so R7,000.00 less .... for a Series higher ... and 3D .... is AWESOME!

Ok, here is a quick Q. What do you guys think.

Game has a special on for a cellphone contract. 24 mnths @ R135 and you get a free phone and R3000 gift voucher. I was thinking of purchasing 3 contracts. I have already found people who will by the 3 phones at R600 each and so in total I would have R9000 in gift vouchers and R1800 from the phones. Over 24 mnths the total amount spent on the contracts will be R9720 + R606 connection fee, which is a little less than the amount I would generate and is roughly R405 per month. Game is also offering the LG LE5300 FHD LED TV for R9999.00 with a free Blu-ray player. I want to use the funds/vouvhers generated from these contracts to purchase it. Would work out to be a 24 mnth "interest free" finance option. I Will likely purchase an extended warrantee as well to cover the tv for at least as long as the contracts run and I will be depositing the sim cards from the contracts in a dark corner of the cupboard to gather dust over the next 24 months.

What do you guys think of both the method of purchase and the LE5300 TV.
